clear, Deaton was able to find a high line and move back into second place. Morrison was never quite able to recover, finishing a distant five minutes behind Deaton for second in the Pro class. Deaton pursued Hayes for the remainder of the day but was unable to catch him, but he finished a strong first place in the Pro class and third overall. Hayes maintained his lead, finishing almost four minutes ahead of the field to take the overall win. In the AA class, Richard King was first off the line, leading Matthew Pressley and Lee Thornburg into the woods. King's lead was short-lived, as Pressley and Thornburg pulled ahead by the end of lap one. Thornburg continued to push hard and on lap two he made a move for the lead. "I didn't feel like I was riding exceptionally well," Thornburg stated, but Pressley stalled on lap two, giving Thornburg the chance to move into the lead. By the race's finish, Thornburg put three minutes on Pressley and finished an impressive second overall while taking the AA-class win. Pressley retained second in the AA class. King dropped all the way back to fifth place by lap four but moved back into fourth by lap six. On the final lap, King caught an unsuspecting Ricky Loflin, who was riding third. Loflin unknowingly allowed King to pass. The number plates were nearly impossible to see due to the mud, so when King caught Loflin, he was able to. pass without a battle to finish third in the AA class. The top B rider for the day was Justin Lee, the winner of the 200cc B class, who finished a strong two minutes ahead of the second-placed B rider, Terry Slater, who won the Vet B class. eN Daniels Rldue Taylorsville, Nortb Carolina Results March 17, ZDDZ [Round 1 of 14J Anthony; 4.
