Northwest Vintage Motocross Championship Series Round 7: Woodland Motocross Park machine similar to Hart's 1974 Honda CR125, won both motos. Hart was well on his way to a win in the second moto when his CR blubbered to the side of the track. This allowed Casey to grab the lead and hold it to the finish. While Hart did get rolling again - losing over half a lap in the process - it was Casey winning overall. "It loaded up really bad on me,· said Hart, a former Team Tuf Kawasaki rider who teamed with Mark Barnett in the late 1980s. "I haven't ran the bike since last summer, so I guess it had some crud in the carb or something." Price posted four impressive moto wins on the day, the highlight of his day coming in his overall win of the Open Evolution Expert class, in which he put a stop to the current {LeftI Monty Price (30) leads the second Open Evolution Expert/Intermediate moto at Woodland Motocross Partt. Price won overall, and also won the Four-Stroke Expert class. Price took advantage of the primo track conditions to roost the competition in his Four-Stroke and Open Evolution Expert-class wins. Oregon's Grayson Hart made a successful return to racing after a lengthy layoff. The former National number- 72 plate holder defeated several of the Northwest's top Experts in his 250cc Vintage Expert-class win. Hart led CZ riders Chris Clark and Jim Rowand nemesis Joe Casey to the finish in the first combined 250ccjOpen moto to snare his first of two moto wins on the day. Moto two wasn't much different for the rider from Aloha, Oregon, as the Honda rider pulled the trigger fastest out of the gate to lead Row, Clark, Casey and Suzuki-mounted J.R. Neumann on an opening-lap parade. Hart checked out early on the competition, amassing as much as a 10-second gap on a squabble for second between Rowand Clark, whose swapfest helped them close in on 62 APRIL 3, 2002' ... U ... • • (Right! Grayson Hart made his series debut at round seven of the Northwest Vintage Motocross Championship Series a successful one, winning both 250cc Vintage Expert-class motos. Hart in the later stages, but the battle wouldn't go down to the finish, as have most of the Clark-Row showdown this season. Clark's CZ expired with one lap remaining, allowing Row to grab the overall win in the Open-class portion, behind overall 250cc winner Hart but ahead of Casey (the secondplaced 250cc finisher) and Neumann, the top-placing Intermediate rider. Neumann narrowly edged the thirdplaced 250cc Expert-class finisher, Randy Brown. Filling out the top seven finishers were CZ-mounted Kenny Brynn, the top Open Intermediate, and Husky rider Jack Gillette. Hart, though, wasn't as fortunate in the combined 125cc Expert/Intermediate contest, as Casey, riding a Reid Saario (78W) and George Eadie (6) battle for position in the Over 50 Intermediate class In Woodland, Washington.
