Collier soon had his hands full with Mike Johnson, who wasn't happy with third and wanted to improve his position. On lap four. Johnson made a pass stick on Collier, but his chances of catching Robb looked bleak. as the leader had already built up nearly a straightaway-long cushion on the pack. As the checkered flag came out. Robb was out front, Johnson ended up second, Collier held tough in third, and Nick Page won his racelong battle for fourth over Jacob Holtslander, who had to settle for fifth. Results 50 JR: 1. Talladega Agricultural Center Holsonback Tallies Talladega AX Win Bv JYlATTHEW HOLT TALLADEGA, AL. JAN. 26 What could be better than arenacross in a city noted for its racing heritage? Alan and Jamie McWilliams, along with Scott Aaron and Troy Miller, put on a great night of arenacross racing in Talladega, Alabama. These guys managed to put two timing sections, a whoop section, and a 50foot double inside the Talladega Agricultural Center. The arena was wonderful. and by the time the main events rolled around, it was filled to almost full capacity. From the first qualifier of the 50cc Shah class on, all the racers on hand were out to show that they could bang bars and rub paint just like the NASCAR guys down on the super speedway. The kids in the 85cc (7-11) class had more style and form than some of the toplevel Pros that this reporter has seen race. These guys also raced with an understanding of the game that showed they wanted that first pick at the gate for the main, but that the qualifier was also just another look at the track before main-event time. When the gate dropped for the qualifier, Jesse Aaron took the holeshot but was later passed by Jacob Holsonback, Alex McWilliams and Tanner Thompson. The qualifier finished with Holsonback taking the win, followed by McWilliams, Thompson and Aaron. When these guys rolled back to the starting line for the main event, you could tell it was definitely "show time."
