of the picture, it appears that Demuth
has an excellent shot at taking this
year's Arenacross crown, as long as
he can keep it on two wheels.
After winning Friday night's 250cc
main event, Bradshaw, on the No
Fear/Spy-backed Yamaha, went
down during a heat race Saturday
night, apparently catching his leg on
one of the Tuff Blox, which pulled
him off the bike in mid-air. Bradshaw
came to earth feet-first, but the hard
impact broke one of his legs. The
injury, as it turned out, was a compound fracture of the leg, which will

keep Bradshaw out of action for the
rest of the National Arenacross
Series. This sudden turn of events
benefits Demuth greatly. Bradshaw's
demise means that the Yamaha
YZ250F rider now has a seemingly
insurmountable points lead over the
new second-place rider Darcy Lange,
614-538. (Technically, Bradshaw is
still in second place, but that will
obviously change as the remaining
rounds are played ouL)
Of course, Bradshaw's injury was
the main topic of conversation following the Hampton race, but there were
other stories worth mentioning,
including Friday's 125cc main-event
win by Chad Johnson, of the
Tuf/Thor/Honda Racing Team. The
win was Johnson's first of the season.
Johnson worked his way up through
the pack to score the win over
Demuth, on the Shogun Motor Sports
Yamaha thumper. Third place went to
Suzuki/Axo/RG3/Bill 's Pipes rider
Brad Hagseth, followed by Pro
Source's Tommy Hofmaster and Johnson's teammate Jeff Willoh. Lange
took sixth, while Bradshaw struggled in
the race, finishing seventh.
