In his first race aboard a ] 25cc machine. Andrew Gaddis turned in impressive double moto wins in the 16-24 Amateur class. However, the 125cc C contest would prove to be a handful for the rookie. KTM-mounted Keith Davidson took the first-moto holes hot and never looked back en route to the win. Gaddis suffered a midpack start but rode to a second- BLAKE GREEN place finish aboard his Suzuki, but he never got close enough to make a move on Davidson. In mota two, again Davidson got the holeshot, but this time with Gaddis in tow in second. Their race-long battle came down to the last lap, with Davidson stiil having the advantage. Despite the muddy conditions, Gaddis - in a move that had not been seen all day - took the lead by doubling his way through a treacherous section dubbed the "Diamondback 10-pack," a set of 10 whoops, each one 3 1/2 feet tali, that are spaced too far apart to blitz. With Gaddis in the iead, Davidson tried time and again to get by, but he ran out of time. Gaddis took the checkers and the overall. In 85cc action, there's quite a rivalry brewing between young Cameron Stone and Tyler Horne. Both aboard Yamaha YZ85s, the two traded wins in the 85cc (7-11) and 85cc (9-13) classes. After taking the hoieshot in the first 9-13 mota, Stone had bike trouble, which allowed Horne to take the lead and moto win. In mota two, Stone again absconded with the holeshot, with Horne hot on his tail. The two battled ali mota, but Home played it smart by settling for second and taking the overali, which ieff Stone (6-1) third overail, Second overail went to Matt Bell, who put in solid 3-3 finishes in both motos. However, in 7-] 1 action, it was Stone who swept both motos to take the overall. Horne got a terrible start in mota one and tallied 3-2 for second overall. The rider who seemed most at home in the mud was Gregory Roberts, who piloted his Suzuki to a perfect score on the day with clean sweeps in both the 85cc (12-15) and Supermini (12-15) classes. Another double mota winner was Kawasaki rider James Archambault, who won the Over 35 and 125cc Beginner classes. Despite poor starts in both 125cc Beginner matos, Archambault was in the right position by the ,October 14, 1997 RESIDENCE , .Hemet, California OTHER INTERESTS ., ,BMX, Scooters DISCIPLINE , ..
