Wes Flippin and Brent Bowser came up from Bakersfield and had their way with the competition, going 1-1 and 2-2 respectively, but the guys behind them were going at it pretty hard as well. Kyle Kessinger and Toby Stettenbenz, two regulars on the CMA scene, fought tooth and nail for the third-overall position. Kessinger edged Stettenbenz out by one position in the second moto and was able to claim third. The 85cc Novice class featured a good crop of riders as well. Les Soito turned some heads when he won the first moto over Austin Ingalls and Denver Edwards. Ingalls is used to being at the front in this class, and he got things together in the second moto. After a good start, Ingalls pulled out a comfortable lead and took the overall class win by going 2-1. Edwards salvaged second overall with 3-2 scores. Soito fell back to fourth in the second race and third overall. A few kids have been showing up with 100cc machines, and there were finally enough of them to make a class. Scott Clark and Justin Brasil were mounted on Kawasakis, and both of them were hauling the mail. Brasil came out gunning in the first moto and won going away, but Clark wasn't giving up. After a good battle in the early stages of the second race, Scott Clark broke away and won. His 2-1 finishes gave him the overall. Brasil finished second with his 1-2 scores, and Ahlin Blake took third on a Honda XRI00. The 125cc classes always feature some of the best racing, and it was no different on this day. The Novice class featured some very closely matched riders. In the first race, Kyle Jones, Scott Podergois and Brock Vejar worked their way to the front of the pack. Podergois and Vejar were both riding well, but Jones had everyone's number in this event. He was hammering the track and going bigger than anyone else and won the first race going away. Things would get tougher for the young man from Taft, however. In the second moto, he ran into trouble - in the form of Matthew Williams, Steven Bates and Podergois. Williams was out to prove a point after a mediocre sixth-place finish in the first race, and he took a gutsy win in the second. The guy who put it together best, though, was Podergois. Again, he rode a nearly flawless race and finished second. His 2-2 tally was enough to edge out Jones for the overall. Craig Rannells, the local iron man, came out and put in some pretty good rides aboard his new CR250. "Rapo," as he is known, took the 25-29 Novice class. via 2-1 finishes. He took fifth in the 250cc Novice class and won the Old-Timers Novice division. .Josh ~~The Giant Killer~~ \Noods Josh can choose any suspension company, and he chooses Lowe Racing - The Suspension Experts • 989-288-6068 Josh swept the Top Awards at the 30th Annual Mini Olympics Dunlop Silver Tire A1Nard Pro Circuit Platinum Pipe A1Nard And he never lost an event overall in the 125A and 250A classes Suzuki podiums: Grand Prix 1st - 125A & 250A Supercross 1st - 125A & 250A Mod Motocross 1st - 125A & 250A Mod p----------------------------------------------o o o Name Address City _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ State Zip _ o Phone _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Order Date Send to: ~~, Inc. o o o po.
