PERRIS, CA, NOV. II
Perris Raceway has changed somewhat since
ROTMXers last raced there, but, as always,
the track was well-prepared and in tip-top rac·
ing condition. Twenty-nine ROTMXers were
fortunate to be out there, trying their very best
to outsmlHt and outmaneuver one another.
It was a great day for Amateur Over 40
racer Larry Fisher. With great speed and lots
of winning know-how, he put together two triumphant moto wins on his Yamaha. John
Timmermans' fast pace kept him ahead of the
other guys and was good enough for two second-place finishes.
Toby Taki is a wonderful eXlimple of a
good and smart racer. His fast and flawless
speed couldn't be matched by any other Master B rider. With Taki acing both motos, runner-up W.G. Wilson blasted across the finish
line with two fast second-place standings that
anyone would be proud of.
Tim Williams stormed out with the lead
and led his fellow Experts for a lap. Ed Wolleson picked up his pace a bit and passed
Williams on lap two and then continued on in
fine style. leading each and every lap until he
had first place wrapped up. Gene Johnson's
top speed qualified him for the second-place
slot.
In moto two, Wolleson powered his Suzuki
off the line and quickly into lead again. An
able and determined Johnson gave him quite
a challenge. but Wolleson once again crossed
over with the win, with Johnson in tow.
Joe Red led all the Over 50 Amateurs at
the beginning and he was still leading them at
the end of both motos. He just couldn't do
wrong on his winning Suzuki. Red truly rode
his way. Ron Tuzinsky's hot racing won him
two second-place finishes.
Novice Over 40 rider Ralph Garcia timed
the gate just right for the holeshot, and he also
seemed to have planned his win. With lop
speed, he beat everyone to the finish and collected the big win. Gerry Kompleski was also
high on speed and quickly cinched his second-place finish.
Kompliski took the early lead in moto two
and rode as if he had the right of way. Blitzing
ahead of everyone and sharing the lead with
no one, he soon crossed over for the win, followed by the fast· moving Garcia.
The top gun of the Over 50 Novices has to
be Ed Rodzack, as he seldom does anything
but win. This race didn't change anything.

Crow Canyon Raceway
Kaiser Rolls
to the Win
By JOHN KREPs
URICHSVlUE, OH, OCT. 28
Strasburg, Ohio's Zach Kaiser has fought
crashes and mistakes for the entire AMA District 12 Fall Series, but he managed to put it all
behind him at the sixth and final round at Crow
Canyon Raceway and come away with a victory in the hotly contested 125cc B class. Known
for his good starts, Kaiser absconded with the
second-moto holeshot on his VZl25 and never
looked back, taking scores of 2-1 on the day
for the overall. Series regulars Fletcher Shryock and Brian Beaber also put in great rides at
this final event to secure the other two podium
spots. Though Warren Laney made some mistakes and ended up fourth in the 125cc B
class, he made up for that by taking the
Schoolboy (12-15) class on his Vamaha of
Warren VZ125. Shryock was again able to put
his 10<125 into second overall.
Mini speedster Justin Weeks made the trek
from southern Ohio into northern territory and
took the mellsure of the 65cc class on his
10<65, with Kyle Ditcher in hot pursuit on his
KTM. The District 12 Mini regulars had their
revenge on Weeks in the 85cc (7-11) class,
though, pushing him back to third, behind the
victorious Ditcher and second-placed Michael
Blauman. Andy Sczypta came out on top of
the pack in the older 85cc (12-15) division,
with Sam Isabel putting his Vamaha into first
overall in the Supermini class.
Starwest Motocross Parte Jarred Browne was a double-class winner In Moreno Valley,
California, scoring victories in the 85cc (12-13) and 85cc Open classes,
Another powerfully fast Kawasaki four·stroke
sweep of moto firsts was again the order of the
day for Rodzack. Gale Webb made some great
jumps and scored two second-place motos as
a result.
