The next rider through the score tent was the 250cc/Open A winner Gary Hendricks, He took third place" overall and got second on the start. He followed Lance Smith into the woods and throughout the first lap until Smith lost his lead going up a hill. Performance Cycle-supported Hendricks took the lead for a while' and then swapped with Billy Cooper and Clint Robinson. They passed him, but he quickly recovered during the second lap. "Once I passed them," Hendricks said, "I stayed out front. I felt like I had a good ride today." Sixth place overall went to Marty Michels. Plessinger Cycle/Regina Chain/Sprocket Specialists/DP Brakes-backed Michels got the FourStroke A holeshot and led the whole race without any problems, "I rode hard and had fun," Michels reported. "I guess at the next race, I'll try to make the top five." River City Honda & Suzuki/Basic Bike-sponsored Marty Stinnett claimed top honors for the 200cc A class and came in seventh overall. Sergeant First Class David Dougherty took a break from his airdefense duties at Fort Campbell to ' become the winner of Vet B class. There were 17 riders in his class, and he was three minutes ahead of the second·placed one, Scott Kirchoff. Another rider, Tyson Ezell, claimed an impressive fourth in the 200cc C class - at 14 years old. The Big Stripper was held in Lynnville Park in Indiana. The Lynnville Area Dirt Riders created a new course consisting of 11 1/2 miles of steep ridges, fast tracks, and plenty of rocks to flatten tires. It was a fun track for the 378 rider in attendance, and thanks to the officials, the lappers did a much better job at pulling to the side of the trail.
