Hoosier Hllltoppers Me: Tim Pridemore took both moto wins in the Heavy A class at the final race of the season In Uniontown, Indiana. season Finale Hoosier Hilltoppers MC Pridemore, Koontz Shine By MARK BUCHANAN UNIONTOWN, IN, OCT. 28 Tim Pridemore took3 the win in the Heavy A class and Ryan Koontz dominated the 125cc Band 12-15 Youth classes at Hoosier Hilltoppers final race of 2001 in Uniontown, Indiana. The fall season wasn't kind to the Hilitoppers, with a mud race and one rain-out, but the weather was great for the last race of the season. Rider turnout was well below average for the last race, though, because two other tracks in south-central Indiana were running the same day. Pridemore took both moto wins in the Heavy A class on a Cycle Shack/D&D Oolitic Store Honda fourstroke. Bobby Hall nailed the holeshot in both motos on a Hoosier Hilitoppers/Hill's 4x4 Yamaha. Kevin Studley, also Yamaha-mounted, followed Hall off the line in the first moto, in front of Pridemore, but Pridemore quickly moved up to take the lead on the first lap for the win. Hall finished a close second and Studley took third. Pridemore went down early in the second moto but remounted quickly and started to chase down Studley and Hall. Pridemore passed Studley after two laps and started to pressure Hall for the lead. Hall took the white flag in the lead but overshot the turn after the finish line, giving the win to Pridemore, who took the overall. Studley (3-2) finished second, in front of Hall. Studley took the holeshot and the win in both 16-24 motos, in front of 72 JANUARV 2, 2002' cue • • Suzuki jockey Tony Hilkey and Yamaha rider Danny Garner Jr. Brent Lee took the win in the Heavy B class, in front of his father, Yamaha pilot Kelly Lee. Garner got the holeshot again in the second moto and went wire to wire for the win. The top four riders stayed close throughout the race, and Brent Lee held on to take second place after a race-long battle with Grubb. Kelly Lee claimed fourth, with Jeff Lee fifth. Brent Lee took the overall with a consistent 2-2 tally, in front of Kelly Lee (1-4), and Garner (5-1) took third, in front of Grubb and Jeff Lee. Cedar Raceway/Club MX Fall Motocross series Round 5: Cedar Raceway Park Draper .Schools the Troops CEDAR CITY, UT, NOV. 3 ome on in and have a seat as Brady Draper takes you to school on the Olympic scoring system and the way motocross results are tabulated. You know - total low score wins and the second-moto tie breaker. Draper took care of the low score who needs to win a moto? - and let the tie breaking be demonstrated by the two guys who tied for second. Competing in the fifth of the six races of the Cedar Raceway/Club MX Fall Motocross Series, Draper was contesting the 125cc Beginner class at Cedar Raceway in Cedar City, Utah on November 3. Ken Hynes got the jump over Bryce Stewart and Draper as race action got under way. Hynes was flying out front when he took a soil sample, handing the lead to Stewart. Randy Guzman came on and made a first-lap pass on Draper to take over second. Guzman then muscled past C Stewart on lap two to seize first place. Stewart came back at him but, despite breathing down Guzman's neck for the rest of the race, he couldn't quite pull the inches needed to claim the win. Draper flashed across in third, just a tick behind the leaders. Justin Worthing, normally one of the heavy hitters in this class, was uncharacteristically not a factor in race one. He made his presence felt right off the bat in moto two, taking the holeshot from Jason Ellis and com'pany. Brian Fowler made an early charge into the lead, but Worthing took it right back. Guzman quickly joined the battle up front. And where was Mr. Draper? Hanging out in fifth, waiting for the blood to drain off the playing field. By lap two, he had moved to fourth and was hounding Cody Larsen for third. Ellis had fought his way into the lead and was doing a great job out in front, but Draper, battling his way up into second, knew he had the overall locked
