as the "rain date." Competitive racing was found in all classes. With the FMF Sandmaster Series decided at the previous race, only the Hi-Point and Holeshot Awards were still up for grabs. A combined 125cc A and B class lined up at the starting line, with several top riders in the B class wiUing to contest the race with the A riders. When the gate dropped, A rider Jason Begeske grabbed the holeshot aboard his Yamaha, followed by two B riders, Fred KarrJe and Robbie Conklin. RM Suzuki jockey Brad Ripple passed the two B riders before the second jump and closed in on Begeske. The two riders then broke away from the pack. Just after finishing the first lap, Ripple got crossed up over the tabletop and crashed. With nowhere to go, Begeske crashed into Ripple's bike. While the two A riders were on ground, Karrle moved his Yamaha into the point, with Suzuki pilot Robbie Conklin closing. Ripple rejoined the chase, but Begeske was out of action. At the finish, Karrle took the combined win, followed by Conklin. With Begeske out, Ripple took the top spot in the A class. "I came over the tabletop just about [when) the fiag came out and saw the yellow bike on the ground, and then realized I was going to hit it: Begeske said afterward. "It happened so quick. I caught my fingers in his spinning wheel, and as a result I have a nasty gash that will probably need some stitches. As far as my bike Igoesj, it is trashed. The front-brake rotor is bent in half, and one of the radiators is bent back to the tank. What a crash!" Ripple pulled the second-moto holeshot and set it on cruise control to take top billing in the A class. In the B class, Karrle took the lead and the win to record double wins for the day. Karrle also took top honors in a very competitive 12-15 age class. Hi-Point honors went to Justin Kasza in the 125cc C class, Chris Bolint in the 85cc Senior class, and Jeremy Siegle in the Heavyweight C class. Chris Bolint Jr. moved up to the 125cc B class from the 85cc Senior class. His fifth- and eighth-place finishes earned him seventh overall for his first appearance in the big class. After a nasty get-off and a trip to the hospital last week, Matt Slagle was a surprise entry at this race. A thorough checkup revealed nothing amiss, and despite some soreness, Slagle wanted to race. His first venture, in the 85cc Senior class, got him off to a good start, as he carded third overall. Fun Mover is a cargo van - motorhome combination meeting all your needs!
