IFMA FMX Fall Series Round 11-12: Baltimore Arena STORY AND PHOTOS BY RAYMOND GUNDY BALTIMORE, MD, OCT. 12·13 (AI fier missing last weekend's event for the Winter X·Games Qualifier, Thor/Von Zipper's Nate "The Destroyer" Adams came to Baltimore with a mission - to stop last weekend's winner, Thor/Powerade's Dustin "Scoot" Miller from having another perfect weekend. Adams wassuccessful Friday night after a solid run and taking over the hot seat, as he watched Lamson Porting/Works Connection's Jake "The Jailor" Windham and Miller try to knock him off. As the last score was done, it looked like Adams did it with a 94.2 score. Adams demonstrated a new trick this weekend that he did last weekend at the Winter X-Games Qualifier, a double grab to double nothing. This new trick made the judges and the crowd go wild. Pulling the highest score all weekend, Adams said, "I had a very good Friday night with a great, solid and smooth run that I was happy with. I also learned a couple of new tricks. Everything I tried in my run worked out for me and I think the judges noticed that." Taking his 11th win for the series was Saturday night's winner Miller, as he did the same run as Friday but this time a little better and smoother. Miller said, "Tonight I won. It was the same run from last night that should have won." After crashing in practice, it looked as though Miller didn't miss a step as he pulled a 93.85 for the night. Again Miller knocked Windham off the hot seat to take the overall win for the night. Friday night, Windham was able to beat Miller but fell short from knocking Adams off the hot seat, giving him two second-place finishes for the weekend. "I had a pretty good weekend and rode all right," Windham said. "I got second again for the 47th time in a row, I think. But I am getting used to all these second-place finishes. 1 felt Saturday night I did my run a little better and smoother, I really felt I was going to take my first win, but Dustin did it again. He knocked me off the hot seat. It is funny, every time I think I got the win, Dustin somehow pulls off a better run." For the weekend, Windham scored a 93.3 Friday night and a 93.6 Saturday night. He fell short only .25 points from his first win and taking his fourth second place in a row. Going third for Friday night was Miller, as he got a 93 flat for his score. "Friday night didn't go so good," Miller said. "I thought I had a smooth (Left) Jake Windham finished second both nights. (Below) Winners Adam (left) and Miller (right).
