Team Green rider Gavin Gracyk showed
up on a Kawasaki KX250 to get in some track
time in the Support classes. He handily won
all motos in the 250cc/Open and extra bigbike classes.
There was also a pit-bike race held on the
Pee Wee track, mostly for friends and
mechanics, such as Gracie's tuner, Stephan
Leblanc. Track owner Tim Bemhard participated but was DQed for course-cutting. Fun
was had by all.
haVing problems, as he was terribly
overgeared for the conditions. The final heat
results were Sherman, Shefts, Clark, Carsen
Shefts and McAfee.
The Open Pro flat-track heat included Tom
Sherman, his daughter Carly, Montana's
Clark, and Spokane, Washington's young flattracker Rory Whitney. From the beginning,
Sherman-Anglin led her dad - a scenario that
has been becoming more frequent. Clark was
followed by Whitney, and they knocked on
Sherman's door in the opening laps. Clark
slipped by, and shortly after that Whitney
pulled by Sherman. The final top three were
Sherman-Anglin, Clark and Whitney.
In the Speedway final, McAfee again stole
away with the holeshol. This time he held it
easily to the checkers, followed by Sherman,
MartY Shefts, Clark and Carsen Shefts.
In the Open Pro flat-track final, ShermanAnglin, riding her Woods Rotax as she has in
every other race this year, refused to be beaten. The racing happened behind her. Sherman-Anglin took the win. Clark followed.
Whitney was third, and Sherman was fourth,
followed by the rest of the field.

Pro leader Clay Hoenshell increased his
overall points lead to 135 over second-placed
Haydn Franklin on Sunday with a cruise
through the course. Back at his van after the
race, Hoenshell was jazzed about his win.
"I got out in front at the start," he recounted, "then waved Franklin past me to see what
he had. After a lap on his heels, I decided to
get around and let her fly. I never saw him
againl That sure was a fast track, with no reason to pace."
The first lap saw a tightly grouped pack of
Pros just seconds apart, but from the second
on, HoensheJl pulled as much as a minute
ahead of the group at times.
There are several skirmishes within the
various classes as the season-end banquet
nears. Four-Stroke Intermediate rider Doug
Neubauer is only seven points from the leader,
Mitchell Martin, with Ryan Sudderth ciose on
their heels, just nine points back of the lead. In
the Four-Stroke Expert ciass, Cody Harris
dropped a place, to third, after a track-cutting
incident on Sunday, putting him 90 points
behind Eric Hess, with Scott Stidd sliding into
second place 80 points off the lead. Roddy
Gray is a mere 15 points behind leader Kent
Climer in the Over 35 Intermediate ciass, and
in the Over 45 Intermediate ciass, Wayne
Reeves leads Thomas D. Moore by 35 points.
The Ladies Experts have quite a battle
going, as well, with Gina Montey showing a
45-point lead over Bethany Jacobs, and Sherri Stephens only 70 points behind Mantey.
Anything can happen with only three races to
go, and these are just a few of the many battles taking place.
The Pee Wee classes have quite a few
scuffles going. In the 50cc Amateur class,
John Short IV holds a 27-point lead over
Chase Reynolds, Intermediate Corbin Fleming
has a siight five-point lead over Tyler Nickelson, and Dusty Hammond leads the Experts,
with Joshua Hess trailing him by just 25
points. Pee Wee 60cc Amateur Austin Henderson has an 84-point lead over Justin Gregory,
and Intermediate Christian Vowell leads Kenny
Rodgers by 65 points.

The final round of the ISRA Speedway Championship was held in conjunction with the
Idaho Aat-track Championship at the Lemhi
County Fairgrounds. Carly Sherman-Anglin,
daughter of longtime Salmon, Idaho, champion Tom Sherman and always a Salmon
favorite, carried on the family tradition by topping the Open Pro flat-track ranks, beating not
only her father but riders from Montana,
Washington and Idaho on the quarter-mile
clay oval. Shane McAfee, the driving force
behind speedway in the intermountain region,
took well-deserved top honors in the Speedway division.
In the first Speedway heat, McAfee
absconded with the holeshot. McAfee was gelting along well with his George Wenn-tuned
Jawa until he came off on the third lap, relinquishing the lead to Tom "The Shermanator"
Sherman. Behind Sherman was MartY Shefts,
followed by past winner Rich Clark, who was

Scenic Highlands Motosports Park in Newcomerstown, Ohio, hosted the inaugural Midwest SeniorNet Motocross Championships.
Although attendance was somewhat low, there
was first-class racing out on the track.
As there is emphasis on the Senior riders,
these racers proved that getting older doesn't
necessarily mean getting slower.
Well-known racer Dave Hand from Mantua, Ohio, and 2000 Over 30 B U.S. Amateur
National Champion Robin McClain from
Lagrange, Ohio, battled ferociousiy in four
motos in the Over 25 AlB and Over 30 AlB
classes.
Hand got the holeshot in the fITst Over 25
mota on his Kames/Pro-Action/Wiseco/Hand
