Broken Spokes Raceway Blauman Breaks 'em at Broken Spokes By JOHN "PrrRACER" KREPS NEW PHiLADELPHIA, OH, SEPT, 3 The AMA District 12 Fall Series kicked off on Labor Day with a record crowd of 340 riders battling it out for top points in the first round. Starting the series off on the right foot was Michael Blauman of Strongsville, Ohio, who swept four motos on the day en route to vieto· ries in the 65cc and 85cc (7 -11) classes, 81auman led from start to finish in three of the four motos, and he started in second in the other, behind archrival Kyle Ditcher, on a KTM 65, With Ditcher not quite up to speed in his first race back from a broken leg early in the season, 81auman was able to get his KX around quickly and motor away to secure the sweep on the day. The older Mini riders put on a great show as well, with Sammy Isabel taking top honors in the Senior 85cc class, but he only mustered a fourth overall in the hotly contested Supermini class, jn which Cody Calkins came out on top of a battle with fellow Kawasaki rider Cody Duma, In the B classes, Warren Laney proved he's ready for big-bike action by taking the overall in the 125cc B class over Tyson Leggett and Fletcher Shrocyk, Zach Kaiser, a B-class front-runner all season, struggled with mistakes and crashes all day but still managed a hard-fought fourth overall. Leggett avenged his 125cc loss in the 250cc B class, his 2-1 score besting Laney's 1·2 tally for the overall. Brian McVay garnered a well-earned third overall after first-moto third-place finisher Josh Gunn snared the holeshot in the second moto but crashed while leading. Gunn was only able to climb back up to eighth in the moto, giving him fifth overall. The action in the Vet and Women's divisions was all about moto sweeps, as Darfin Zaremba, Chris Opllger, Ron Mizer and Jennifer Veltre were able to win every moto in the . Over 25, Over 30, Over 40, and Women's classes, respectively, Zachary Knotls continued on with his winning this year in the SOcc Junior class, and Seth Weis stepped up to the top rung in the 50cc Senior class.
