I got past everyone else pretty quick and then just kind of got stuck in a spot were I wasn't gaining any time on him. 1 made a hard charge near the end. and when I caught up to him, I think he was tired, because he looked back at me and tried to put a little block move on me. 1 dove to the inside and made the pass, and that was it. It was definitely a good night." Truglio, gridded in the eighth position, had a good shot at the win, as he jumped out to a huge lead after getting by the field in front of him. In fact. for about six laps of the 15-lap race, Blair never gained an inch on him. and it wasn't until lap 12 that Blair finally narrowed the gap. Truglio then went into defensive mode, and although he held off Blair for a few more turns, Blair's determination was just too much. Truglio still managed a strong second-place finish, ahead of Jeff Pestana, Hageman and David Boothe. In the Schoolboy class. hotshoes Cory McDaniel and Nick Davis went at it in both motos. Suzuki-mounted Davis grabbed the first-moto holeshot over McDaniel, and the two steadily pulled away from the field. For most of the moto. it was bar to bar, and while McDaniel took the lead on lap three with an aggressive block-pass. it was brief, as Davis came right back with the same move and 'went on to take the victory. In moto two, McDaniel grabbed the holeshot, over Cameron Bowman, while Davis came around the first turn in dead last. McDaniel quickly shook Bowman and stretched out his lead, while Davis. who got through the pack in a hurry, engaged in a brief battle with Bowman. In fact, the two nearly went down after colliding in the whoops. Meanwhile, McDaniel seemed to have the victory in hand until disaster struck on the last lap. While negotiating the whoop section, a mere single turn from the finish, McDaniel got crossed up and made a complete U-tum in the midsection of the whoops. The mistake was just what Davis needed. as he shot by McDaniel just as he was back on the gas. The two came across the finish line a bike length apart, and it was Davis taking the win and the overall on the evening. KTM pilot Michael Flores took the win in the 60cc Beginner Division One class after a close battle with runner-up Tyler Ash. aboard a Kawasaki. While Ash led early on, the two exchanged the lead several times throughout the second moto; Flores made a last-lap block-pass for the victory. CN los os F.irg_nds los s. C.lifDrni.
