Honda CR250 rider Chad Zaiser soon tired of the lesson and took the lead away from Biddle. Zaiser held on for the win, followed by Biddle, Suzuki RM250 riders Dennis Slabaugh and Richard Hardaway, and Honda rider Ben Rogers. Ricbard Biddle and his YZ426F also placed fourth in the Over 40 class. Chuck Hetrick had a fairly easy go of it in the Over 30 A class, a feat which he was unable to duplicate in the Over 40 class. Hetrick and his fellow YZ rider Mark Matheis battled for the win in the "Old Guy" class, with Hetrick just edging out Matheis and his brand-spanking-new 2002 YZ250. Another Yamaha YZ426F pilot, Randy Kline, followed Biddle across the finish for fifth overall. Splitting the first two Yamahas and the second set of Yamahas to cross the line was the KTM of Mark Bliss. The 125cc and 250cc A classes were again dominated by Mark Burkhart, who nailed the 125cc A holeshot and disappeared. Fellow YZ250F rider Craig Clements was runner-up, edging out the hard-charging Travis Hartshorn. After an uncharacteristically poor start that put him at the rear and pitched batties with Wesiey Boyd and Derek Sturgill, Hartshorn just couldn't make up the distance to Clements. Boyd got around Sturgill to take fourth overall. Sturgill was fifth. UNNVIUE, OH, AUG. 10 Tyler Sh.oe took the measure of the other competitors in both the Schoolboy and 125cc B classes during round eight of Honda Hills' popular Friday Night Series. The young speedster nabbed the holeshot in both classes and distanced himself early to take the wins. in the 125cc B class, Shoe launched his trusty KXI25 into the lead and never looked back. Honda-mounted Eric Biddle stayed close enough to keep Shoe honest throughout the moto. Series points leader Mike Nibert was doing his best to make up for a mediocre start. Coming into this eighth round of the 10round series, only seven points separated Nibert from Biddle. Nibert started around 10th and immediately began his charge. By moto's end, he had secured fifth place and the precious 10 points it offered. YZ125-mounted Rob Bingman put in one of his better rides of the season, finishing third overall, followed by RM 125 rider Josh Rice in fourth. In Schoolboy action, Shoe again had the track wired. He put his KX125 in front and held the lead to the end. Honda rider and series points leader Josh Adair gave chase but couldn't get by the speeding Shoe. Yamaha riders Jim Smith and Joshua Barr were third and fourth, respectively, followed by Hondamounted Chancy Sterling in fifth. In 250cc B action, KTM pilot Tommy layman had to fight off dueling Honda riders Nibert and Brian Biddle in order to secure the win. Biddle grabbed the runner-up spot, while Nibert held on to third. In the 250cc C class, Richard Biddie snared the holeshot with his big YZ426F and, for a few laps, showed the rest of the pack the PfW 50 D-I: 1. Ian Kendig (Yam); 2. Matthew Blum (Yam): 3. The cushion of the track was what the seasoned riders were looking for, and once again they found it here. The racing was exciting from start to finish. In the first race - the Pee Wee Stock 50cc AlB class - Yamaha pilot James Williams and Brandon Bemardeau battled around the track for the lead. Bernardeau crossed the finish first, but Williams was first in his class, just behind Bernardeau. Yamaha-mounted Gabriel Garcia was first in the C class. Every young~ ster in the Pee Wee races received a trophy. There was no stopping Yamaha-mounted Stevie Bonsey from being first in the BOcc AlB ciass. Bobby Fong followed on a Honda. The 100cc Stock race included riders from several classes, and the first finishers were Michael Snedden in the B class, Thomas Terry in the C ciass, Garrett Willis in the Youth class, and C.D. Howell in the Youth B class. The 100cc Modified race also inciuded several classes of riders, and the finish was quite exciting. Kenny Carlotta managed to squeak by Snedden across the line to take first in the B class. One of the most fun events of the day is the Knobby race. Nicky Moore was first across the line in the A Knobby class, after he rode the outside line like he owned the track. The Vintage Singles race included five riders in both the A and B classes. Joe Carrera finished first, in front of Johnny Larson, the first B rider. Jerrnain Bacosa - grandson of the track's announcer, Bob Bacosa - finished first in the C class. Adams Kart Track Morse Hat-Tricks at Adams By ROD GIRARD Clements Stampede Grounds: Johnny Larson (91W) leads the Open B class, In front of James Lewis (32H), as they come out of turn one. Larson swept the B races all day for the second time at this track In Clements, Cali1omla. e n e _ s RIVERSIDE, CA, AUG. 12 The day dawned hot, and the sun was harsh in the clear sky over the Adams Kart Track for the August doubie-points race date of the Cal· ifornia Motorcycle Road Race Association. One of the hottest riders was Ben Morse, who pulled off a hat trick, with three dominant overall wins in three hotly contested classes. In the morning's Veteran Modified race, Morse went virtually unchallenged, winning flag to flag. Damian Saavedra, running second, attempted to run Morse down, while Jason Van Slyke and Jason Takamoto jousted for position in third and fourth. The afternoon race spun up like a MixMaster, with Saavedra grabbing an early lead. Morse was quick to move up to challenge Saavedra, while Van Slyke and Takamoto resumed their duel for third. Saavedra held off Morse for seven laps, but at the last, Morse was not to be denied, taking the lead on the last lap. Saavedra heid on for second, with Takamoto taking third and Van Slyke falling to fourth, with the overall finishes following suit.
