This week, Bryan Douglas became the fourth winner in as many races, grabbing the lead on two aborted starts and the official one also. On the official start, he took the lead from Raun Wood, Bob Sweeten and Tom McGrane Jr. By the end of the opening lap, Douglas held about a two-length margin. Sweeten, striking a blow for senior riders, got by Wood as they started the second lap. Despite Wood's constant pressure, Sweeten held on to second the rest of the way. Earlier, Sweeten had an easy time winning the Over 40 class, ahead of Bob Babcock and David Smith. He also tangled with his old rival Jim Hollister, making for another classic battle in the Over 30 final. Hollister took the lead from Davis Reeves and Sweeten, with Sweeten taking second on lap. On the fifth lap, Sweeten slipped under Hollister for the lead_ This woke him up, and he pushed his Rotax harder.
