jostled and bumped all the way to last place. As Joshua Bulloch and Nick Pearson were battling Pilgrim for the lead, Jeremy Nelson and Josh Taylor came up to join the lead pack. Pilgrim crashed out in the far section and Bulloch took over the lead. Meanwhile, Montague was raging through the pack, and by midrace he had pulled in behind Bulloch for second. A late-race pass on Bulloch completed Montague's last-to-first odyssey, and he won race one. Bulloch led Taylor and Pearson through the pipes. Race two was anticlimactic. Montague tripled past holeshot ace Pilgrim and checked out. Pilgrim was leading Taylor, Bulloch and Pearson in a tight battle for second until he tipped over in the rhythm section. Pearson passed Bulloch, and then Bulloch went down in the whoops while trying to retaliate, which dropped him out of contention. Of course, Montague romped home with win number two and the overall 125cc Pro crown, while a late-race pass by Taylor past Pearson gave him a hard-earned second overall. Pilgrim and Bulloch followed Pearson in the overall results. CN Cedar Raceway Parle Cedar City, IJtIIh Ilaults: June 30, 2001 [Round 91 50 SHAFT: 1. Coleman Stout (Yam); 2. Easton Taylor (Yam): 3. Utah Sport Riders Association Summer Series Round 10: Cedar Raceway Park Kealamakia Controls C.edar City By DICK GOODWIN CEDAR CITY, UT, JULY 1 a ppy Kealamakia, who is racing on a bigger bike nowadays (in the 125cc Junior class), demonstrated the skill and speed that made him a feared competitor in the Minicycle ranks as the Utah Sport Riders Association staged another event in its Summer Race Series at Cedar Raceway Park on Sunday, July 1. One of the day's biggest gates was the 125cc Junior class. Kealamakia grabbed the holeshot and he led Steven Alba and Austin Calloway around the big tree and out onto the course. Adam Derschan and Sam Jolley were also in the lead group chasing Kealamakia, but no one was K catching him, as Kappy increased his lead with each lap. The man on the move was Willey Peterson, who battled his way up to and then passed Calloway and began to challenge Alba for second. Kealamakia drove in for an easy win, but Peterson made things exciting, tripling past Alba on the last lap for second. Kealamakia, clearly the class of this field, ambushed the boys again as race two got under way. Alba and Calloway were on his tail again, in a carbon copy of the first-moto start. Kealamakia settled the race even earlier this time around, surging to a huge lead. The action was all for second, as Alba led Peterson and Calloway in a fight for the runner-up position, Kealamakia rolled to anoth- Cedar Raceway Park: Flagger Ann Goodwin waves double-class winner Monte Montague across the finish line at round 10 of the Utah Sport Riders Association Summer Series in Cedar City. er easy win and the overall 125cc Junior trophy. Peterson passed Alba in the whoops to grab second and edge him for second overall. Calloway and Jolley followed in the final standings. All you need to know about the Junior Cycle classes is Landon Powell and Blake Savage. Powell, a 60cc (911) hotshoe, and Savage, who races with the 6- to 8-year-olds, were both totally dominant, scorching the track on their way to double moto wins in their respective divisions. Powell was edged off the line by Colton Greenhalgh in the first 60cc (9- 11) moto, but that was the only blemish on his otherwise perfect day, as he quickly passed for the lead and the race-one win. Powell went wire to wire in the second stanza to win the overall class crown. Greenhalgh and Dacoda Sorochuk battled for secondplace honors, with Sorochuk getting the nod over Greenhalgh in the final standings. Savage did Powell one better, grabbing holeshots in both of his races and never looking back. Bo Welcker did a good job, finishing behind Savage but ahead of Chad Hunt and Kyle Price in the final results. eN cue I e Cedar Raceway Pirie Cedlr City, IJtIIh Results: July 1, 2001 [Round 10J 50 SHAFT: 1.
