CN ~ Volley MX Bellwood, North Carolina w ~ ~ c ~ ~ ~ Parker Valley MX: Robbie Horton dominated the Pro action at round seven of the IMS Pro Series/Carolina Ultra Series in Bellwood, North Carolina. Walker and gave the lead to Horton. He knew what to do with it; he won moto one, followed by Team Green's Josh Summey, Triad Powersport's Jim Neese, Hans Neel, and a newcomer to the Pro class, AI Lane's Zach Bradshaw. In moto two, Walker was leading again, with Horton again in tow - only this time, Walker had no problem staying out front for the win, followed by Horton, Summey, Neel, Neese, and Yamaha of Lumberton's Jason Bryant. Horton's first-moto win, compared to Walker's DNF, gave him the overall. The 250cc Pro contest was the Horton Show. He nailed the start in moto one, followed by Ballzee's Chad Lough, Neese, Walker and Summey. Neese was the first to make a move, and he went past Lough. Not to be left behind, Walker and Summey were next to make a move on Lough. By halfway, Horton had opened an eight-second lead. Walker was now past Neese and trying to close on the leader. Summey wanted some of the action, and he stuffed Neese to make a pass. As the white flag flew, Walker was within a bike length, but the distance stayed the same as the checkers fell, giving Horton the win, followed by Walker, Summey, Neese and Lough. In moto two, Horton again assumed the point. Walker suffered a hard crash on the first lap. After tumbling up one of the fast straights, he retired for the day. As Horton led, Neese stayed close enough to keep him honest, followed by Summey, Neel and Jared Black. As the gaps between each rider were just enough to make good racing, this was also how they took the checkers. The first 125cc C moto was a dogfight. Jeremy Allison and Chase Whitten traded the lead eight times, with Allison taking the win. Whitten was second and Jeremy Jacobs was third. Jeremy Saunders and Christopher Nelson rounded out the top five. Whitten nailed the moto-two holeshot and left Allison behind, fighting traffic in about eighth. Before two laps were in the books, Allison was on Whitten's fender and setting him up for the pass. After Allison made the pass, Whitten couldn't drop his guard, as Jacobs was there again. Allison didn't leave anything on the table, as he took the win by five seconds, again followed by Whitten and Jacobs, and then Jonathan Williams and Malcolm Klepp. Three out of the top five were aboard the new YZ250F. Les Smith, aboard his Hagar/Cernics KTM, dominated the 65cc (10-11) action. He was the only rider in his class to do the double-double section, and this gave him at lea~t a threesecond advantage every lap. He was followed overall by Benjamin Denton, Adam Britt, Tyler Clark and Joshua Thomas. Smith returned to split moto wins with Ryan Currie in the 65cc (7 -1 0) class. Smith took the second-moto win, which awarded him the overall victory. They were followed by Sean Cunningham, Wyatt Messey and Tyler Clark. In Over 30 C action, Wade Garland used the double-double section as his ace in the hole. He was also the only one in the class clearing it. Mike McMenamin won the first moto, but a second-place finish in the second moto netted him the runner-up laurels. Garland's clearing of the tricky section allowed him to win the second moto with ease. He took the overall, followed by McMenamin, Edward Johnson, Steve Fish and Benny Stone. Former Motocross Des Nations hero Billy Liles scored a double-class day with overall wins in the Over 30 A and Over 35 classes. Along with Horton and Liles, other double-class 25+ C: 1. Red Bud Track and Trail Ditton Doubles By lARRY WITMER BUCHANAN, MI, JUNE 30 Alex Ditton won the competitive Auto Junior (4-6) division and came back on his nationally ranked number 6N Yamaha to win the Pee Wee (4-6) division. Both classes had large tumouts. with full gates and plenty of excitement on the track. It was the traditional Saturday night race prior to the big Pro national event. This event was held on the tight, twisty. jump-infested but well-lit night track, which got rough on the more than 600 riders competing for some great prizes provided by the event's sponsors: Classic Trailers, Thor. FMF. Dunlop, and Klotz Lubricants. The FMF support rig was on hand to help the Amateur riders with pipes and jetting. Georgia laPorte and the three techs - all of them named Paul - kept busy helping the racers. Klotz Lubricants had their booth set up for tech assistance. Pro Action was wellrepresented and assisted the Amateur motocrossers contesting the event. Classic Trailers, the official trailer of Red Bud, had three beautiful trailers on display. Red Bud provided the fireworks show on Saturday night. It was a huge show and got rave reviews from spectators and the racers. Quincy, Michigan's Ditton put on his own fireworks show, winnjng the first Auto Junior (4-6) mota over a very determined Colton Schnake. Ditton won the first moto by holding off Schnake every time he made a bid for the lead. In the latter stages of the first moto, Schnake had a problem in a sand switchback turn, giving up the runner-up slot to Kyler Giminez. Schnake eventually carded a fourth. In the second moto. it was Ditton's tum to have some bad luck. Schnake got the holeshot when Dillon had problems with another rider on the opening lap. Ditton remounted and ran through the field while Schnake was all alone up front. Ditton got by second-spot rider Dan Marino on the last lap r-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~---'a: w i!! ~ 1;: ~ ~ ~ Red Bud Track and Trail: T.J.
