"My year started out good, with Top honors went to P.A. Allen, who fought a very tight battle for overall points. Throughout the season, he consistently battled with Mike Sampson and Jeff Cregg. They exchanged wins, but Allen broke the Coast Range 100: Chris Kramer "walks the rocks" on his way to an overall win in the Coast Range 100. - you know, the kind of doughy grenade that flies up behind you and lands on your neck. Another added feature was the abundance of dew-bespeckled faceslappers dangling from the sides of the trail. Even if you were lucky enough to not have a fogging problem, the constant barrage of water to the lenses made vision a "trail Braille" experience. And who can forget the prunelike skin on hands and feet, which became numb after the first hour? For many, this event would seem like a horrible experience, never to be repeated and never to be recounted. On the other hand, there are just as many of us who can really appreciate the beauty of a day in the woods. Just ask Chris Kramer. eN Com Range 100 Tillamook, Oregon Results: June 24, 2001 [Round 5] AA: 1. Chris Krllmer; 2. Mason Harrison; 3. Derek Steahly; 4. Bill Ballester. OPEN EX: 1. Mitch Jueneman: 2. "At the time," Lambruno explained, "I was busy building my house, but J managed to find time for seven races. I got all first places except for West Point. I couldn't see because it was so dusty, so I crashed out. Afterwards, I couldn't get my bike to straighten out." Charles Jaghab, Brook Barker, Steve Middlebrook, Eric Meeks and Mark Winsatt were the five winners in the C classes.
