The three-day event started at the qua rter-mile Lodi Cy cle Bowl ova l tra c k . Saturday 's shor t- t rac k racing wa s at Delta Sp ee dw ay ' s 3 /1 6 -m il e trac k in Stockton, and on Sunday th e ev ent re t u rne d t o th e Cy c l e Bow l , w h er e the Lodi boys ha d worked m agic an d the smooth and fast Fri day night oval had beco me the TT track. Pac ific Coast Productions , a joint venture of the St ockt on and Lodi Motorc ycle Clubs , put on t h i s outsta nding show. The Pee Wee 50cc ( 4- 8) class started the racing . Michael Martin of Lo c k efo rd , Cal i forn ia , won. Chow ch illa 's Te rry Cheath am was second , and J ak e Strong w as th ir d . In 600c c Modified raci n g, Ri v er ban k , Californ ia's Nick Moore pu ll ed a back -of-the -p ac k le ap to fi rst on the first lap and then de fended the l e a d aga in st Oakl ey , Ca l iforn ia 's James Le wi s and Rain i er, Wa sh ing ton's Kyl e Ragsda le. Moore won th e class all three days. In th e 65 cc DTX c l a s s , Jame s Beach of Ken t. Washington , took th e start, only to see Sto ckton's Anthony Fong, on th e lone KTM, pass on th e outside and th e inside for the win . The big bik es put on a show in the T wins (O ver 18) clas s. Calgary , Cana da 's Royal Adderson , on his booming XR750, led from pole to pol e. Adderson also won th e Over 30 Open Single even t , but not u ntil San Leandro's Armando Rodriguez ran out of track and sma cked the back wall . Rodriguez recovered for second, and Japan's Matsutoshi Tomita to ok th ird . The 600cc Pro Spo rt class ran at its usual fast pace . Brandon Inderbitz en and Bob Casey rode wi re t o wire in first and second . Matt Proto was th ird . Fifteen rid ers starte d the Ov er 4 0 contest, but that number w as pared down to 12 by the end. Casey held the lead until his head er pip e broke , draw in g a b lack fl ag that allowed Jesse Kreyling to take over the lead , and he never looked back. Rob Damron sho wed h i s st u ff in th e Pro Am . Jess e San ch ez and Sh awn Rag gio made cont ac t on la p one , allowing Damron to move from the che ater 's box to firs t before lap two. Th e fin ishing ord er was Damron , Raggio and Rose. James Abrams came fr om down in the pack to cla im first in th e 100cc Modified cl ass. Brad Baker of Che va lis , Wash ing ton, moved into first on the second lap of the 50cc Senior contest and never surrend ered that spo t. Anthony Fong was hot on his tail but wen t into tum three a li t tle lo w , allowing Bran d on Bernadeau to t ak e the fast pass , so th ey fi ni shed Bake r, Bem adeau, Fong . Stewart Ba rb er got away first in 250 cc Modifi ed competition , bu t a big t angle and cra sh brought out the red fl ag, and Abram s led off the restart . Sam Halb ert of Gra ham, Wa shington, was first afte r a ch arge from back in the pack. Der ic k Oqu ist of A rli ngton , Wa sh ingt o n , w a s se c ond , a nd Abrams took a well -earned third . J oe Hernandez won th e 85cc Mod ifi ed race ov er Bobby Fong and St eve Bok el.
