Moroso Motorsports Park: Shane Prieto rockets through turn 10 en route to setting a new track record in West Palm Beach, Florida. Prieto nabbed another early lead in the GTU and dominated the entire race. Weber was in second and fighting to catch up. Also, there was a battle for third place between Martinez, Ashmead, Mcintyre and Pedro Valiente. This group swapped positions a few times during the race but none of them were ever able to catch the two front-runners. At the finish, it was Prieto out front and all alone, ahead of Weber, Ashmead, Martinez and Valiente. Prieto dominated the Unlimited Supersport race, although this time Cereda nabbed the holeshot. However, by lap two Prieto had taken over first place and turned up the power. Halfway through the race, Prieto had opened up a 30-bike-length lead, which was never closed. He was alone again at the checkered flag. Martinez finished second, ahead of Cereda, Mcintyre and Pihokken. Prieto was out front again at the start of the Middleweight Supersport contest. All the passing action was behind him. Martinez picked his way through traffic and took over second place with just two laps to go. At the line, it was Prieto, followed by Martinez, Mcintyre, Valiente and Chris Cummings. Cereda won Heavyweight Supersport and Heavyweight Superbike, finished second in GTO and Supertwins, and finished third in Unlimited Supersport. In the Heavyweight Supersport race, he nabbed the holeshot and ran away with the lead. Scott Ritchey, Pihokken, Mcintyre and Robert Caraway were in hot pursuit, but Cereda never let anyone get close. At the checkered flag, he was all by himself. Mcintyre finished second, just ahead of Pihokken, Ritchey and Caraway. Cereda was out front early in the Heavyweight Superbike race, with a gap over Ashmead, Edward Lis, 56 JULY 4,2001 • cue I e Narup, Caraway and Martinez. Martinez maneuvered through traffic to third, about 10 lengths behind Ashmead. The top three held this lineup throughout the race. At the finish, Cereda was far ahead of Ashmead. Martinez finished third, with Mcintyre and Andres Perez close behind. Todd Keesee won three races - GT Lights, Lightweight Superbike and Lightweight Supersport - and finished third in Lightweight Grand Prix. He led all six laps of the GT Lights race, but he had to fight Keith Galias for the win. The two ran close together most of the race, with Keesee holding the advantage. At the end, it was Keesee, Galias, Justin Garvin, Gerry Hasher and Dwight Lewis. Keesee led the entire Lightweight Superbike race, with Galias again close behind. Keesee finished ahead of Galias, Tim Hall, Hasher and Francisco Gomez. The Lightweight Supersport race was not very different. Again, Keesee was out front early, leading Galias. On the final lap, he had an unchallenged lead and finished ahead of Galias, Hasher, Hall and Garvin. With three wins each, there was a tie in the Amateur ranks for the most first-place finishes. Michael Buckmire won GT Lights, Lightweight Superbike and Lightweight Supersport, while Darren Luck won Heavyweight Supersport, Middleweight Superbike and Heavyweight Superbike. Luck finished second in Middleweight Supersport and third in GTO. eN AM GTCJ; 1. Shane U!wmllster (Yam); 2. Steve Craft (Yam); 3. Andre Bibeau (Yam); 4. Bill Sheridlm (Yam); 5.
