Carrier led the first moto of the Vet A Over 30 class for two laps be fore Gess ner ma de the pass for the win. Carrier finished a close second , followed by Hond a -mounted Shawn Wilson. Carrier le d the second moto from wire to wire for th e win , with Gessner claiming second pl a c e , in fron t of Wilson. Carrie r edged out Gessne r for the ove rall with th e second -moto vic tor y, and Wilson took th ird . Carrier took both ho leshots of the Fou r-Stro ke cla ss , in front of Brad Lentz. on a Mot oracin g .co m Yamaha . Lentz got th e holeshot in th e se co nd moto , in front o f Wilson and La m p e . Then Lampe fell o ut of the to p five, a nd Gessner pa ssed Wils on for second place on the first lap. Wh ile th e A cla sses were not th e only divisions to provide ex cit ing ra ce action , they s howca sed s om e of th e hott e st up -and -c om ing Pro talen t in t he re g io n . In th e 2 50cc A c lass , Fish e r, Lusk, Ward a nd Miss issippi 's Chris Craft foug ht tooth a nd na il th e e nt ire day , with Lus k ga rnering the overall at th e fi n is h, de sp ite p o or sta rts a nd a first -m oto c ra sh. Fisher also had a n up -and -down day , with perha ps his finest m oment be ing his phot o -finish first -moto win over a hard -charging Ward, who rode strong A a ll day and took the runner-up posi tion in the 250 cc class as we ll a s in the 12 5s. Lus k was the overall winne r in th e 12 5cc class wit h a 2 -1 moto s core, wh ile Fisher was the victim of bad luc k , a s he c rash ed on th e first lap of th e second moto while lea ding , re s u lt in g in a d isa p p oi n ti n g DN F. Craft, meanwhile, rode to a cons is tent 3 -3 -m oto tall y , g iving him th e fina l step on the podium at day's e nd. Th e B-c lass a cti o n , much to the deligh t of Chambers and h is T e a m Green crew, was ne arly a n a li-Kawasa ki affa ir, a s flying Rya n Sipes swept both class overa lls , with Mississippi's Nathan Da venport taki ng a st rong second in b oth c la ss e s. The only nongreen riders to ma ke th e pod ium in either clas s were Lou isiana 's Bla ke Kennedy (aboa rd a Suzuki RM) in the 250cc cla ss a nd SYD's Cody Watford , who took the fina l step on the pod ium in the 125cc cla ss . Watford rode strong all day lo ng and was able to finall y take the position after his ma in riva l for th e s po t, Josh Ask ew, c ra s hed out of the se cond moto , resulting in a trip to the lo c al h os p it al for a check -up. Askew later ret urned , bruised but otherwise okay. Mini-class a ction wa s also intense , a s s ome of t h e top rid e rs from the e ntire lower half of th e USA were on hand .
