Podium One Motoplex: Kevin Lampe took all four moto wins in the 250cc A and Over 25 A classes at the second round of the Podium One Gold Series in Charleslo wn, Indiana. T he new track was in excellent co ndition, an d Kevin Lampe d om in ated the 250cc A and Over 25 A cl a sse s , ta k in g all fo ur moto wi ns on a Honda. Rodney Car rie r took the h olesho t in both 25 0cc A m otos on an S& S Pow ersports KTM, in fron t of Lam pe and th e Cy cl e Sh ed KTM o f L ar r y " Slu g go " Ges sner. Carrier hel d the lead at th e en d of th e fi rst lap but was be ing p re s sur ed h ard b y L amp e . Gessn er was a close third , followed by Tim Pridemore on a Cy cl e Shack Yamaha and Aaron Mcintyre on a Podium One Suzuki. Lampe took th e lead on the next lap , and Gessner mov ed up to c h allen g e Ca rrier fo r second . The t op three sta yed cl ose the entire moto, and Pridemore went down in a rh ythm section on the th ird la p , fall ing to fifth , behind Mcintyre, for the fi nal running order. Lam pe took the lead on the sec o nd lap again in the second moto . Gessner also m ad e the pass on Carr i er f or second , b ut Carrier pas sed Gessn er back on the next l ap and held the position to the end . Lampe t ook the ov erall with both m oto wins , in front of Carrier and Gessner. Mcin tyre cl aim ed fourth ove rall and Pridemore wa s fifth. Carrier also got the ho leshot in th e first O v er 25 A moto , i n front of Lampe , but Lamp e m oved int o th e lead by the end of th e first lap . Lampe took the overall with both moto wins aga in , and Carr ier claimed second in both motos. Gessn er fin is hed th ird overall , in front of Weis and Schmid t . Gessner passed Carrier for the lead . on the fourth lap of the second mota, but Carrier sta yed close and passed Gessner back in the last turn before the checkered flag . Carrier took the overall with both mota wins , follow ed by Gessner and Hall. Weis dominated th e 125cc' A class , taking both holeshot s for wire to-wire victories . Derrick Dew itt took second overall on a Turn On e Motorsports Yamaha , foll owe d by Nu ge nt. Jason Reynolds claimed fourth overn eVIl'S all on a W hi t e Broth ers Yam ah a, in fr ont o f C h ris Bolt e on a Z imm er Yamaha. "Flyi n' " Ryan Sip es an d hi s brother J ust in " Poo h" Sipes both had great d ay s. Together , the si blings racked up 10 mota wi ns. Ryan S ipes dominated all six motos of the 16 -24 . 125cc Band 250cc B c lasses on his Team Green Kawasaki. Jason Mudd fin ished sec ond i n both 250cc B motos on a MotoXtremes Honda , in fro nt o f Yamaha -mounted Brad Abe le . Sipes easily won bo th 16 -24 matos , and Matt Richey , ri ding a Flash 's Suzuk i, pl aced second , in fro nt o f Yam aha pil ot Travis Schaefer. Sipes took both mota wins in the 125cc B class , in front of Kawasaki jockey Shawn Cla rk and Suzu ki j ock ey Brandon Nichols. K awas ak i -mounted Justin Sipes dominated the Min i classes, taking all f our mota w ins in the Senior and Open M in i cl asses. Sip es took both win s in the Senior M ini cl ass by about 45 seconds over Brock Evans, on an F&S Suzuk i, and Yamaha rider Matt Car li se . Sipes won bot h Open M in i mo t os b y about 35 seconds over K a wa sak i jo c keys Jon Wells and Br and on Schmidt. Ya ma h a - m o u n t e d Kelly L e e claimed the top spot in th e Over 25 B and Over 30 B classes , taking all four mota wins. Rob Nelson took second in the O ver 25 B class o n a Sh ips Yamaha , edging out Suzuk i pil ot Mike Jones . WERA Vintage Road Racing Round 3: Summit Point Raceway Team Giannini Takes Four By S T E VE S T A SER SOfoIMIT POINT, WV, APR. 21 he T~am Giannin i Racing duo of Ch ris Marshall and Chris Ke lleher combined fo r four victories at WERA V in t a g e Ra c ing 's first stop a t th i s northern West Virginia track . Ma rshall captured wins i n the Lightwe ight Classic di vision , in which he holds the current number-one p late, and in Vin tage Three . Kelleher, the current Midd leweight champion , took w in s i n Midd lewe ight Classic and Heavyweight Classic. Team Obsol ete riders David Roper and Eric Green scored three victories, with Roper taking Vintage O n e and Vintage T w o and Green taking the Rocket T hree BSA home first in Vin tage Fo ur. Th e we t d ay started off with the Formula RD, Lightweight and Heavy - T weight Classic contest. Another Team Giannini rider, Stanley Llpert, had the lead for two laps as the fie ld ti pto ed through th e v ery slick course. Gene Lucas of Te am RD and Fred er ic ks burg Motor Sp o rts -b acked Yamaha ride r B i ll Eskam w er e gain ing on Lipert , and both got around by lap three . T hen Richa rd Lucas also got around Lipert, who eventually limped into the pits with a fouled plug. Gene Lucas stayed in front to take the win o ver E s k am , w ith Ri c h ar d Luca s rem aining in third. Marshall took his Lig ht weig ht Classi c 25 0cc Du cati to his first win of the d ay over the season -o pener winner in this class , Brad Mo rr is on , wi t h B i on St. B ern ard in th i rd . Ke lleh er and h i s Aermacc h i 350 ha ndled the Heavyweight Classic portion , over th e T ed Hubbard-prepared BSA of John Wybenga and Tri umph rider Jesse Morris.
