Set at a 24 -mph speed average, the 3.2 -m ile tes t incl u d e d an extremely tight, downhill sw itchba ck section that was followed by a steep, slick uphill. Stowe , J ason Howe , Billy Russell, Brian Sperle, Ty Spooner and Matt Wa llace were the only ones to e vade the tes t's trea c he ry, with low scores of four . "I was focused on what I wanted to a ccomp lish," Stowe s ai d. "At first , I didn ' t feel I wa s on fire in the test, becau se I d idn 't ca tc h Greg Ruffoni [riding on the minute in front of Sto we] - he was riding a really great pace!" Stowe 's fina l sco re of 8 .036 eas ily wrapped up th e victory . Sp erle 's consisten t pace a nd good marks resulted in a second-place finish , with 10 .049 .
