Scott Fredericksen got the holeshot in the first Vet Money moto, but Knight quickly took the lead over a double jump. Ed Kiley ran third but put his RM250 into second when Fredericksen fell on lap two. Knight rode unchallenged to the finish. Fredericksen came back and passed Ron Coste late in the race for third, behind Kiley. Kiley got the jump off the line in mote two, only to have Knight power past on the start straight. Knight was in complete control and started to pull away on lap three. Fredericksen began to close on Kiley on lap five. Time ran out, and he placed third again. Coste was fourth. Kiley pulled a huge holeshot in the first 250cc Money moto, over Chris Tyndall and Knight. On lap one, Knight rode past Tyndall and then took the lead from Kiley in the S section. Tyndall was able to stay in contact with Knight while Homans worked through the field. Kiley stalled on the last lap and dropped to fifth. The top three at the finish were Knight, Tyndall and Homans. Knight and Kiley led early in race two. Homans gated much better this time and passed Kiley on lap one. Homans closed on Knight, and the pair began to pull away from Tyndall, who ran alone in third. Knight stayed out front for more than half the rllce before Homans pulled in behind him after the triple jump and jammed underneath going into the S section. Kawasaki rider Lee Spann held a solid fifth for most of the race until Yamaha-mounted Paul Corey tagged him for the position on the last lap. In the 125cc Money class, Corey was the hard-luck rider of the day. With the first-moto win firmly in hand, Corey's YZ250F quit just after the white flag came out. Homans, who had swept past Brian Young earlier in the race for second, scored the win. Tyndall was second, over Young. Corey came back and took a wire-to· wire win in race two. Young had his YZ125 flying and he passed Tyndall for second before overshooting a berm and dropping to fourth. Homans was second by lap four and sailed side by side with Corey over the triple jump before settling for second. Homans was the overall winner, over Tyndall. Corey's DNF-l was good for third overall. Results P/W (4-6): 1. Evan Smith (Cob); 2. AU5lJn B9rden (Yam); 3. Denton Hendrickson (Yam): 4. Stephlen Donaldson (Yam); 5. D.J. Ook.. (&a). P/W (7.9): 1.
