Dukes Rules GARV CRIDER BREMEN, GA, MAR. 11 T he Best of Georgia AMA District Ni'ne Championship MX Series. now under the leadership of the Georgia Promoters Group, got off to a great start at Bremen Race Park MX. with more than 500 riders from eight states in attendance. Out of the ~2 divisions, only four riders managed double-class wins; Jase Lewis, Drew Askew. Justin Applewhite and Sean Dukes each notched perfect scores in their respective divisions. LSD-backed Dukes. who won the Over 25 and Over 30 classes, further distinguished himself by turning in the (unofficial) fastest lap of the day. Ezra's little brother. Shane Lusk. narrowly missed a double-class win, but he was able to claim the lion's share of the Pro purse after winning three out of four motos in 125cc and 250cc A racing. Capitol Cycle/Pro Circuit/Thorbacked Nate Larsen emerged from the fiercely contested 125cc B division with a perfect score. The fight for runner-up honors ended in a threeway points tie. with Josh Askew coming out on top via his 7 -3 finishes. over Jordan Meredith's 6-4 score and D.C. Thomason's 4-6 score. Top contender Dash Lyle finished third in the opening moto, but he had to sit out the final moto due to an injured ankle. Qualifiers had to be run in the overly large 125cc C division, and Proline's J.J. Mackey was clearly the victor after winning both his qualifier and the final. Brandon Priegel was the runner-up. over Kyle McBride. Mackey returned in 250cc C racing and finished third overall. Kurt Schmeisser won the class in a close match over Brad Simpson. All three riders were aboard Freewheeling-prepared Hondas. Two of the 50cc divisions played host to a day-long. four-moto debate between Michael Norris and Byron Dillard. Norris won the opening 50cc Shaft-Drive moto, but Dillard was on top in moto two. netting the gold in a points tie over Norris. Extreme Powersports of Columbus/Motul-backed Norris returned in 50cc (4-6) action and took a pair of hard-earned moto wins aboard his Cobra. Meanwhile, Dillard finished a close second both times. Mackenzie Walker dominated the newly created Honda XR/Z 50cc division, and Cycle Nations' Hunter Link topped the 50cc (7 -8) class. Bubba Crosby hit the track without hesitation and scored a pair of runaway wins in the 60cc (7-9) class. South Carolina's Patrick Johnson topped the 60cc (10-11) division and then returned to battle Patrick Kelley for the 60cc Preteen (7-12) honors.
