CMA Pro-Am series, Northern Division Round 1: Hollister Hills SVRA Park Pipes' Plans Pan Out Bv JOHN BETHEA HOWSTER, CA, MAR. 11 fter months of inclement weather, springtime finally arrived in California, and nearly 300 of the area's best sportsmen arrived at Hollister Hills SVRA Park for the opening round of the fourth annual CMA/Maxima Pacific Coast Pro-Am Championship Series (Northern DiVision). The California Motocross Association has put together more than $100,000 in Dealer Dollars, product and prizes guaranteed throughout the campaign, resulting in an extremely heavy turnout of sportsmen riders. However, it soon became evident this was not going to be a runaway. Tyler Freeman jammed his Honda into second place by turn two, with Pioneer Yamaha's Beau Weigand in third. With the field tucked tightly together, Pipes could only manage a bike-length lead at the finish of the first of eight laps over Weigand (who n e _ s had moved to second).
