Ricky Parks gladly accepted the top spot and tried to put as much time as he could between himself and the fallen riders before the could get restarted. Once under way, Memoli was on fire, catching Parks a lap later and then pulling away to a decisive victory. Rodney Farris Memorial Indoor Short Track Day One: Cow Palace Price Victorious at Timonium Opener By BEN BREECH assumed that mantle during the 1990s. On this night, he showed why; he was the fastest rider all night on his Deptford Honda/Metro Racing.com-sponsored Honda, and in the final he jetted his way into the lead over Paul Lynch, Jake Johnson and Kevin Varnes. Kevin's cousin Mike Varnes displaced Kevin on the third lap, and Roy Miller got by a little later. The front four kept the same distance as they flew around the track for the remainder of the race. A pair of indoor veterans put the same Bultacos they've been racing here for decades in front of the 400cc class, with Mark Burkholder leading T1MONlUM, MD, DEC. 8 eorgie Price again proved to be the master of the small concrete oval that the Baltimore County Trail Riders and the Cockeysville Optimist Club create every autumn inside the Cow Palace building at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. While billed as the sixth annual Rodney Farris Memorial, the race has been an annual event for 24 years. Price took the quickest class, the 250 Pro, and added a few hundred dollars more with a win in the Dash For Cash, which is open to the fastest qualifier in the timed classes, 125cc and higher, plus the nextfastest qualifier. In the 600cc Pro contest, Phil Libhart held off Price for the win. Indoor veteran Rob Smith won the 400cc contest. Maryland riders David Reeves and Dale Verzi topped the 250cc and 125cc classes, respectively. Amateur National Champion John Lewis V remained undefeated in the 80cc class with yet another win, while Jesse Long won the 65cc contest. The 50cc Oil-Injected victory went to Megan Bell, while Cameron Tyson took the 50cc (4-6) win and Broc Schmelyun easily won the 50cc (7-8) win. During the 1980s, Baltimore's Rodney Farris thoroughly dominated the 250cc Cow Palace: Dale Verzi takes a victory lap after winning the Pro class.
