mu ch d rive, desire and focus.
In moto one of the 85ec Supermi ni class,
DeVault ca me out of the fir s t co rner in third ,
behind Yama ha- mou nted Ja red A rn old and
Suzuki rider Kenny Dale Orr. For the first two
laps of the five-lap mcto, the trio rode fender to
fe nd er, d igging through the trea cherous red
sa nd and taking fligh t ove r the monstrous ju mps
of TNT 's mile-lo ng circ u it. Devault, sitting in
thi rd , ne ver missed. a beat.

m ake a m ove on Arno ld in a steeply banked
curve. The sa nd gave way and Orr wen t d own .

wiping red sand from his goggles and shaking

With an a bu nda nce .of style an d a gracefu l
smoo thness , yo ung DeVault mad e pulling a way
from the rest of the rid ers seem as effortless as if
he we re on a cruise through the pasture where
his father first taug ht him to ride.
DeVault raced a total of 28 miles tha t Sun day
afternoon un de r clear, coba lt-blue skies. He took
ho me the first-place trophy in the 85cc Supermini class an d the third -p lace trophy in the Schoo leM
boy class - for his father .

(# 108 7) Norton is one of the most evocative names in the history of British motorcycling. In has a magical effect
on motorcyclists even now, around a quarter century after the marque's heyday. This video tells the who le Norton story.
