Jeff Hed den, Erik Jans sen , Kevin Hall and .Wes Ha le were all batt ling one another on Suzukis. In the first 12Scc qualifier, Hanse n pulled the holesh ot. Janssen wa s dose on his rear tire, and they pu lled out a lead on the rest of th e pac k. After a rider went down hard in the timi ng section, the race was stopped, to be res tarted in single file. Han sen eas ily retai ned the lead; however, Ha ll now kept d ose to Janssen, showing him a w heel in the whoops an d aga in in the comer .a fter th e timing sect ion, bu t Janssen held on to finis h secon d . In the 12Scc main, Han son aga in pulled the holeshot, with Corey Francis, [anssen an d Hedde n in dose pursuit. Metcalf, who was mid pack , mad e a fast cha rge in the timing section a nd by the end of lap one he was on Hanson' s rear tire, with Hedden now in pursuit. On the third lap, Metcalf put a good block on Hansen in the corner a fter th e wh oops an d th en mo ved into a comfortable lead . Hedden qui ckly pulled up on Hansen's rear wh eel. However, Hansen did not falter from the pressure un til lap six, when Hedden wa s finall y able to take the ins ide track after th e triple, gai ning the advantage. In the firs t 250cc quali fier, Brandon Lacey pulled the hol es.ho t. followed clo sely by Ma t Sm it h, Francis, Jan ssen and Hed d en . On lap th ree , H edd en put a n agg ressi ve m ove o n Janssen. bu t their bikes locked and they both lost places while ge tting un tan gled . Up front, Smith w as all over La cey . Fina lly , Smit h made a n agg ressiv e block co ming out of the whoo ps to take first , which he wou ld keep. In th e 250cc m a in , Ha n se n pulled the ho lesh ot, with Metca lf just a few bike leng ths back. Metcalf pu lled an ins ide move in the corne r aft er the tri ple . They both ret a ined the ir position s. Lacey, Smith and Hale were all in conten tion for third, but Fra ncis moved his way up through the pack and took the spo t. Results so: 1.
