Buddy Antunez (Suz) won three of the four races that made up rounds 13-14 of the National Arenacross Series, held in Baltimore, Maryland, January 21-22. Antunez won the 250cc class dUring both nights of racing, and added a 125cc victory on Friday night. On Friday, Antunez topped Denny Stephenson (Suz) and Pedro Gonzales (Kaw) to win the 125cc main event,· and then beat Stephenson and Jeromy Buehl (Kaw) to win the 250cc final. On Saturday, Stephenson beat Jeff Willoh (Hon) and Gonzales in the 125cc main event with Antunez topping Stephenson and Gonzales in the 250cc class. Antunez leads Stephenson in the championship point standings, 451-444, with Gonzales third on 405 points. C G Marlboro Yamaha's Max Biaggi recently completed the first tests of his pre-season at the Sepang circuit in MalaYSia, according to Cycle News contributor Paolo Gozzi. Biaggi tested for two days at the track, lapping at a best of 2:06.6 under the lap record set in 1998 by Mick Doohan (2:07.213) and also under the pole position time for last year's Grand Prix of 2:06.848. He did so despite complaints about the surface of the racetrack. "One year ago this surface was perfect. " Biaggi said. "But after the F1 car GP last October, now we have some problem." The test was the first for Biaggi and his new crew chief Fiorenzo Fanali, who last year was the technical director of Yamaha's World Superbike effort. Biaggi's teammate Carlos Checa wasn't on hand for the test. The Spaniard recently underwent surgery on his right arm to fix some damage he incurred last season. For the second week in a row, Doug I Dubach (Yam) was the winner in the PACE U.S. Off-Road Championships, this time in Phoenix, Arizona, on January 22. Second went to Sott Myers (Yam), who was followed by Dave Shade (Hbg), Jimmy Lamastas (Hbg) and Spud Walters
