is not noted for its raw power in
the 1999 mod el. The ' 99 motor
lacks p ower off the bottom, turns on in
th e midrange and then drops off th e
fac e of th e ea rth o n top . Because we
miss the CRl2S of old so mu ch, we set
out to spru ce up our '99.
We turned to To m Morgan Racing
with the faith that the one-time tuner for
Jeff Ward cou ld put some life into the
lazy motor . The head , cylinder and carb
wer e shipped to Tom at his Lake Havasu hide-away . You don' t wa n t a mot or

da ys lat e r, a Wi seco Flat Top pi st on
came boxed up' with the motor and suspension, as well as a Cometic gasket and
V-Force reed cage.

th en set out to do so me ha rd laps at
Glen Helen Racew a y Pa rk . TMR
changed the slid e in the carburetor and
modified it a bit in the process . Then he
jetted it for us with the knowledge that
