The Orlando /Turner battle raged on for the
remainder of the race, with Aaron getti ng by on
horsepower and Or lando lifting the rear wheel
on occasion, hard on the brakes, and making up
his time w ith cornering skill. Throughout laps
six and seven, it had become evident that Orlando wa s feeling the frust ra tion of bein g be hin d
Aaron, tryi ng the inside a nd out side of alte rna ting comers . Fina lly, on lap seven, Orla ndo an d
Turner d istracted ea ch other enough to all ow
Chesser unde r the inside of the final tum leading to the fro nt straight. Chesser q uickly pulled
away. The race ended in the same o rder. wit h a

fina l tum.

Winner Tom Booth (22) leads Earl Smith (29) and Mike Konshak (4N) in the 600cc Amateur
Short Track event at the VDTRA All-Star Series rounds in Denver. Booth also scored the
Masters-class wins on both days of rac ing .

took both the Masters Amateur and 600cc Amateu r wins despite the considerable challenges of

contest. and the late charge of Ryan Stew art in the
600cc class, which feUjust short of Booth's effort.

John Fike found the IT quite to his liking. as
he found the second spo t in Mast ers Pro behind
wi nne r Isaacs. Bill Snyder, David Barkley and
Joh n Jeffries filled out the top five spots in the
Pro Masters eve nt.
