Stommel ga ted well in mot a one and was in
the lead pac k round ing th e firs t turn, qu ickly

a nd moving up on th e seco nd lap , Hond a rid er
Garrett Frey got by Bird an d se t his sights on
St e w ar t in f ourth . Ev eryo ne fre igh t- tra ine d
behin d Stommel for the next co up le of lap s,
with passes atte m pted bu t non e sticking. Fina lly , a fte r seei ng t h e w hite-fla g s ig na l , an
inspired Stewart sho t around Harris in time to
claim third at the che ckers. StommeI took th e
win w ith a co m man d ing lead over Nole n in
sec o nd . Ha rris held on to fourt h, and Frey
nailed down fifth.
Mota two started with th e top rid ers from
the first mota again at the front the pack and
Sto mmel pu lli ng off another of h is pat en ted
holeshots. Frey made up for his medi ocre firs tmota sta rt an d was in second a fter the ride rs
.sorted themselves ou t throu gh the first couple
of turns on the first lap . Behind Sto mmel and
Frey were Stewart, No le n a nd Ha rri s . Frey
.trfed to put a wh ee l in on Stom me l carl yon in
the m oto but did not succeed in tak in g over
th e lead. Behind them, the res t of the rna to
lead er s se tt led in, no t atte mpting an y risky
pa sses tha t coul d cost the m their ove rall fin ishes on the n ight. Stom m el set tled into a go od
pace that kept ev eryo ne a t bay while still mak ing the race int ere sting. By the time the chec kered flag flew, it was dear th e race wa s Sto m.mel's. Frey heldon to seco nd , with Ste wart just
a blin k of an eve back in third. No len ca me bv

across in fifth.
Stammel' s two firsts claimed the ove ra ll, but
m arc importantl y, th ey gave him a 21-p o int
adva n tage ove r second- place d Joel Te nney in
the series standi ngs . With Stommel's as tronomica l lead, a ll he needs to do to take the ser ies is
sh ow up at the I01.st rou nd of the series. Second
on the nigh t went to Ste wart with a consi stent
pa ir of th ird -place finishes, whil e Nolen went
ho me with third for his two-four finis hes . Frey
ea rned a fourth with his improved seco nd-mota
finish, whi le Harris 'finis hed with a resp ecta ble
fifth on the eve ning .
