Douglas doubles at
Trail-Way ST
By Len and Ben Breech
HANOVER, PA.JUNE 26
After having just one double winner at the previous four ra ces, Brian Douglas left Trail-Way
Speedway with a pair of wins. Douglas easily
won the 125cc B race, and held off a fast-dosing
Shawn Baer for the 250cc B win.
Douglas sa w his lead in the 250cc B final
wiped out wi th a three-rider crash at the start of
the second lap. O n the o fficia l s tart, he again
took the lead, this time fro m Jason lsen nock.

As the la ps woun d down, Baer moved up besid e

pass, bu t he did not have the speed to complete
the move. At the end, Doug las led Baer across
. the finis h line by less than a length, with Isen neck an d Klinefelter still sorting o u t th eir new
mac hines after late starts to their seasons.
The win, of course, was Douglas' second of
the nig ht, but he was not the only rider to ha ve a
lan d ma rk even ing . John Lewis kept his 65cc win
streak alive and also wo n the 85cc class after los-

Stillwell's second straight 50cc (7·8) win. Still,
we ll barely edg ed out Eva n Baer to notch the
win.

Over 40 fie ld, with Mike Keane, Bruce Miller
and Bill Menges fighting for second. Miller got

but Miller' s ATK had better drive than Keane's
Husaberg and he took second by inches .
