Events Imanishi a rising sOn at MRA road race By Kurt Von Ahnen MEAD, CO, MAY 2 Tetsu lmanishi of japan outrode the Heavyweight Super Sport pack on his Suzuki GSXR750 in the opening round of the Motorcycle Roadrace Association's series. The event is an eight-lap spri.nt race featuring motorcycles primarily in the 750cc range, based on produ.ction equipment. At first, Dennie Burke pulled away from the crowd on his GSXR750. It appeared to be The Burke Show, as Dennie and Ryan Burke were in the front of the pack, with Brad McKiernan and lmanishi in tow. Then lmanishi began to pour it on, moving past McKiernan and making seemingly quick work of Ryan Burke. That left him following Dennie Burke for the latter half of the race. It seemed as though Dennie Burke's machine had the horses, as he would pull on the back straight, but lmanishi was wild tm the brakes and would close it up hard in the comers.
