filled out the top five at the end of lap one. Vegeta pushed Cassell back to second on lap three as he took over the point. Reha displaced Wells on the same lap and moved up to the third position, right behind Cassell. Tookey dumped his machine in the back section, allowing Leo Kirschner to move his Honda up into the fifth spot. Out front, Vegeta was on the move as he opened up a five-second lead by the hallway point in the moto. Reha was also managing the conditions well, as he finally was able to find a way around C,ssell with three laps to go. Once in second, Reha enjoyed some clear track, but he was unable to cut into Vegeta's lead, which was now up to six seconds. Wells came forward late, as he passed CassoU just before the white flag to move back into third. The last lap saw Vegeta make no mistakes as he motored all the way to the checkered flag for the moto win. Reha followed him in with a second-place ride, while Wells held on for the third position. . 11,. light drizzle of moto one turned to a full rain by the time the racers lined up for the second go-around., When the gates hit the ground, it was Reha nailing the holeshot as lI,e pack slid through the first turn. Behind him, Kirschner jockeyed into second, with Cassell again gating well and running third. The top five positions were filled out by Wells and Vegeta as the racers came through the scoring section for the first time. On lap two, Wells went around both Kirschner and Cassell to take over ~he second spot. Out front, Reha was steady on the slick track as he scratched out a two-second lead on Wells. Vegeta was also riding strong, as he moved up to occupy the third position just before the halfway point of the moto. As the mota wore on, the rain ca.me down even harder, but Reha seemed unaffected as he continued steadiIy, albeit soggily, with the lead. Wells and Vegeta began to serum for the second spot, and the two riders rode side by side for two laps, each trying desperately to avoid the other's roost. The dispute was settled just before the two-laps signal was given, when Vegeta motored ~by clean!y and took over second. When the white flag came out, Reha was a full 10 seconds out front and pulling away. At the checkers, Reha coasted in for the moto win and the overall victory on the day. Vegeta was next best, as he rode in to finish second, while Wells was rewarded for his consistency as he rounded out the top three. More Than Just The World's Best Premixl Results PRO: l. Mitchell STANrON, ML MAR. 20 Spring motocross arrived in Michigan with beautifu1 weather. Snow and heavy mud was still on the track just days before the first race at the Moreland motocross track. Organizers rerouted the track to bypass the valley area, as it was too wet. Warm, windy weather and many hours of hard work by the Moreland crew assured racers of great racing and a dry place to park. When racing got under way, home-track star Grant Moreland swept both the 60cc and the 80cc (7-11) classes. Adrenaline flowed through the veins of the 80ce Beginners, as many had their engines way past redline at the start of the first mota. Anthony Tanner took the overall from Kawasaki rider Mike Ford. The 50cc Shaft Drive class had a tight battle on the separate Pee Wee track, with James Roberts taking the wins over Yamaha rider Austin Nelson. Nelson did not feel bad about his second-place showing, as he won the 50cc Junior class on the big track. Another two-class rider was Dan Chapel, who won the Over 30 class and took second in the Over 35 class on his Yamaha YZ400. (Please fill out completely and print clearly) Name _ Address YES!
