Turner radical at Perris By Bob Alloy PERRI5,CA,MAR 7 Riverside OTMX members were the guests of the Over The Hill Gang at Perris Raceway, and 26 racers showed up to participate and enjoy a great day at the races. Master A-class 'racer Ron Turner displayed his fantastic racing skills as he lTl'l,SterfulJy flew around the track and won both motos. Carl Gazafy starled out with the I""d in the Master B class and kept the power up to finish first W.G. Wilson came in with second but gave Gazafy a real battle for fu-st place. The second mota was nearly a carbon copy of the first, with Gazafy and Wilson at it again, ending with another Gazafy first Expert jim McConnell started the action by putting his Kawasaki into the lead. Then Chris Cumbo passed him. Cumbo continued to hold his lead for three more laps and was then overtaken by David Wallace. Wallace then carried his lead to the last lap, at which time Ray Guilbeau- had his way and moved past Wallace for the win. In the second moto, Wallace took the holeshot and kept his lead for five laps. john Marshall was glued to Wallace's rear fender and made a pass to take the first place. Rob Ruder passed several riders to place second. Amateur-class rider Dennis Rosenberg maneuvered his YZ400 into the lead in moto on.e, keeping the point until Frank Derby changed the order. Derby then led all the way to the finish, followed by Rosellbe.rg and Barry Hale, who finished third. The second moto went the same as the first, with Derby once again taking first, Rosenberg second, o.n.d Hale third. Novice racer Barry Simun bnd • p"rfect day of racing, getting holeshots and wins in both his motos. Asher Larnkjaer took second in moto one, and Bob Alloy claimed second in moto two.
