Bailey back on track at Sidewinder HS By Chris Bailey STRING PRAIRIE, TX, FEB. 21 Honda of Houston rider Lynn Bailey stormed to victory, winning round three of the Motorcycle Stuff/Pro Clean 1000/VP Race Fuels-sponsored AMA Texas Championship Hare Scramble Series. This event was unique to the Hare Scramble Series in that the organizers continued to push the envelope by offering the riders different forms of off-road racing. For the first time, an ISDE qualifier-style format was used in conjunction with an existing traditional enduro. At 8 a.m., the Texas Enduro riders started their enduro, and at 10 a.m., a separate ISDE qualifier start was held for the 240 Hare Scrambles Series riders. The Sidewinder Motorcycle Gub continued their tradition of putting on a first-class event and did an outstanding job in accommodating the coinciding evenlS. Bailey started the day by posting the fastest time of the ISo-rider AA class through the first ISo-mile special test. After two more fun special tests, the short- and long-course riders split, with the C riders being sent on a trail ride back to camp for the finish. Holding a one-minute lead over fellow (SOB veterans Manny Garza and Josh Whitaker, Bailey stretched out his Lead by another minute in the finai 2a-mile specialtest section and took the overall victory. Garza finished second overall, just eight Seconds ahead of Whitaker. 37
