Riddle has the answer at Orland Indoor ST By Mike Law ORLAND, CA, FEB. 21 With the Orland Indoor Short Track Series one week away from ending, Greg Riddle of L.,keport made his 1999 debut memorable as he battled to the top position in the Vet class and a sixth place in the Open A main event. On the starting line of the Vet main event, Riddle found himself sandwiched between Randy Freeman and Dennis Cameron when the start flag flew. Pole sitter Freeman immediately jumped into the lead while Riddle appLied the pressure with a slightly higher outside line. For four laps, Riddle. hammered at the rear wheel of Freeman and. then shot down low underneath Freeman, carrying Cameron with him. Riddle continued to crank up the throttle in his quest for the checkered flag, as he blasted home ahead of Cameron and Freeman by well over six bike lengths. Dana Perri, John Proto and Jesse Kreyling launched off the line side by side at the start of the Vintage A main event. Then they settled down in that order before Kreyling got bumped to the back of the pack for good on the second lap. Despite the ferocious racing behind him, Perri settled into a rhythm that proved to be untouchable, although Proto managed to inch up on the leader lap after lap. Back in fourth, Kreyling found himseU frustrated in his attempts to pass his pesky nemesis, Mitch Perri, who bobbled slightly, though not enough to allow a complete pas. Dana Perri, however, continued to run as if he was on rails, and he took the checkered flag ahead of Proto by several bike lengths. Riddle once again found himself in between Cameron and Freeman on the starting line of the Open A main event, with Kreyling on the pole for good measure. Freeman leaped into the lead at the green flag, but he was then immediately gobbled up by Kreyling and he dropped back to second. Then he was displaced to third by the flying Mark Corsetti. Kreyling continued to finesse his way around the tight concrete track while Corsetti muscled his motorcycle all over the track and picked up a little bit of grow1d on the leader. When the white flag flew, Kreyling positioned himself on the rear tire of lapper Cameron and forced Corsetti to the ou tside and a l1ard-fought second place. Kreyling's margin of victory was less than a bike length at the checkered flag. Results P!W: 1. Ryan Law (Yam). 60: I. Rebtlcca Law (Kaw). " 80: 1. Nick Moore (Yam); 2. Jason Crewe (Han); 3.
