Voices America.s weekly motorcycle newspaper Volume XXXVI Sharon Clayton, President Michael Klinger, Publisher LETTERS TO THE EDITOR dispute the facts as presented in the trial with Roger Edmondson. 1 find the AMA's conduct in this matter atrocious. The facts in this case are as obvious as Clioton's lies. The AMA is in dire need of new leadership. They have wasted an incredible amount of money trying to defend the indefensible. To acquire a personal debt owed by Peggy Edmondson in an effort to harass and prevent the Edmondsons from settling their bankruptcy case is mind-blowing. Once again, the comedy act of the AMA has shown it has outlived its usefulness to the American motorcyclist. The twostroke Grand Prix bike is the pinnacle of racing technology and I pity those who have never had a two-stroke street or race bike "hit" on the pipe, have the front wheel claw for the sky and rocket to the next comer. Can anyone imagine a Grand Prix grid without the crisp crackle of a real GP bike? If this does happen, why have a separate Grand Prix and World Superbike Series - or is this the real purpose of it all? World Su perbike racing is closer because these bikes are easier to ride. Real men ride two-strokes - just ask Kenny Roberts. Tracy B. Doyle Cincinnati, OH Me too I hope your"sources" are wrong about Grand Prix racing going to 1(){)()cc fourstrokes. That series will be worse than the current World Superbike Series. J. Everett jevereit@tracor.com Eastern Office 4188 First Ave., Tucker, GA 30084 P.O. Kudos to KTM I am writing to thank all the people associated with the KTM Supercross Challenge. My son was lucky enough to be invited to ride the Atl'lnta event. Both my son, Ethan Quehl, and I had a wonderful time. I would also like to thank Jeremy McGrath for spending time with the boys and signing autographs for them. Thanks, KTM, AM A, PACE Motor Sports and Scott Goggles. Last night will be a night that Ethan will remember for a long time. Malcolm Quehl . Grayson, GA Class act. My daughter and I made the 5OO-mile drive from New Orleans to Atlanta this weekend for the supercross. We arrived just in time for the open house at Pro Line Motorsports, featuring Jeremy McGrath. Hundreds of fans were there to see Jeremy, and he treated each one as a special person, especially the kids. Jeremy slayed well past the planned end of the open house and before leaving made a quick tour of the shop, asked several times if anyone needed any other autographs or photos, then left. Everyone was in awe. What a class act.. Then he topped it off by winning the Atlanta Supercross on Saturday night. Wow! M. Leopold mleopold@beUsouth.net Youngblood and the AMA Apparently, Mr. Youngblood doesn't know that the trial is over. Photo by Kinney Jones. As a 65-year-old entrant in the Dual Sport Side.hack class in the Adelanto GP, I was reminded of Steve McQueen, circa 1969. In our group of entrants was the famous actor Perry King. I was particularly pleased to see that he was courteous and helpful to the other competitors and not at all the publicity hog that some actors tend to be. Perry put on a great show with his Yamaha 650 street bike with a Ural sidehack in the Dual Sport class. Mr. King's courtesy was admirably noticed by all the spectators and myself when he voluntarily moved to the side of the track when faster riders approached. King won his class and he was most deserving of the dual-sport sidehack riders' respect and admiration. EmieAragon Arcadia, CA The editor is an idiot Younglood? Parody? If everybody'S counting on our spelling skills to take supercross to the "next level: we're all in big trouble. Pat Schutte Aurora,IL Touche! Schutte is the communications manager for PACE Motor Sports, the promoters of the AMA U.S. Supercross Series, who took some hCilt in a letter ill last week's issue. The editor of Cycle News is Paul Carruthers, the idiot who made a typo on the "Younglood (sic) rcsign~ as AMA president" news item ill last week's issue... Editor
