pulled the first-moto holeshot an.. set the pace for
Daniel Morales, Chris Brandt.ustm james, Aaron
Dumas and Andrew Sanchez to follow.
In second l25cc mota achon, Bryan Ramsey
pulled the holeshot but MIke Heggie put the
moves on and took the lea aw.,\ Heggie took
the checkers and the 125cr NOVIce-class win.
Second place was still up tor Arabs, a Chris
Brandt held off Daniel Morales, Aaron Dumas
and Andrew Sanchez long t:nOll~h to claim the
runner-up spot. Morales, SancheI' and Dumas
rounded out the top five.
Mark Magourick headed the 250cc Novices
aiter Joe Maley cnme up short on lhe new track
double. Maley crashed bard but luckily did not
give up more than one position. Magourick
went on to win the molo and the overall for the
day. Maley pulled through for second, and Gary
0' Rear took thi rd.

The opening round of California Racing Club's
annual l'rophy Series, held at Los Angeles
County Raceway, S<;1W Team Green's Kurt Caselli go 1-1 for the 125cc Novice-class overall honors. Caselli, who is part of Kawasaki's Off-rD.;1d
racing support program, has made a serious
effort at riding motocross as of late to stay in
shape for the long. grueling off-road evenls that
lay ahead. The 15-year-old District 37 Mini number-one plate holder has developed into a fine
125cc rider, .md his win in the trophy series is
proof of that.
In his first CRe race since breaking his back
earlier this year, Clyde Adams looked impres-sive as he grabbed the holeshot of the first 125cc
Novice moto. Chad Frank surrendered the runner-up position to Caselli on the open.ing lap.

Caselli quickly had his KXl25 glu
back fender as the two front-runners puUed
away from Frank, who had his hand. full holding off Sergio Ponce De Leon and visiting
S\\'edish rider Gustan Ribers.
Adams kept Caselli at bay up until the
white-nag lap. Once he got around Adams,
Caselli inched away for the win. Ribe.rs broke
free from Frank and Ponce De Leon. but Adams
was too far gone and the Honda-mounted rider
had to be content with a third-plaCl finish.
