Kawasa ki rider Ga ry Ha rad a mixed good starts,
co ns is te nt rid ing a nd a bit of good fortune to
create a wi nning recipe, as he bes ted the a lwaysco m pe titi ve Vet Novice class a t Racing Ent erpri ses Motospo rts' Satu rday Mot ocross, held at
Glen Helen Racewav Park .
After snaggi ng the ho les hot in mot o o ne,
Harad a immediatel y opened up a fiv e-second
ad vantage and beg an to demonstrate his di sappea ring a ct. KTM·moun ted Ke ith Stone r ran
stro ng, as he di ced most of the mot o with Chris
Alama ngos for the seco nd-p lace position. After
a n unchara ct erist ic poor sta rt, Eri c C rip pa
charg ed his CR250 up to the four th spo t by the
halfway poin t and joined the Ston er / Alamangos
fray . Kaw asaki rid er Eric Ca rr filled out the top
five.
At the checkers, it wa s Harada taki ng the
moto win, with Stoner finishin g a solid second.
Crippa moved u p to claim the third spo t aft er
passing Alama ngos on the last lap.
Th e start of moto two wa s drastically differnt, as C rippa grabbed the holesho t. Ha rada ,
always a strong sta rter, ga ted in second pla ce,
w hile Sto ne r's KTM held d own th ird . Pe ter

spo t, an d Alama ngos was in fifth at the end of
lap one.
Stoner was the man on the move, as he shot
hi s SX250 i n to th e le a d by lap thre e an d
appeared to be p ulling from the res t of the race rs . Cr ip pa con tinued to hold d ow n second ,
though Harada was hounding him and loo king
for an opportunity to pass. As the mota wore on,
Stone r bega n to stretch his lead. Harad a ma de
his mo ve aro und Crippa just after the halfway
po int to move into the secon d slot.
Ju st as it appea red that Stoner was on his
way to the second- mote 'win and the Overa ll for
the da y, d isas te r st r uc k. Sto ne r came around
lim ping on the second-to-last hip wi th a flat rea r
tire. Harada too k advantage of the situa tion an~
mo ved aroun d Stoner to take over the lead. At
the checkers, it was Har ad a taki ng the mota wi n
to complete hi s perfect day ah ead o f Crippa,
who sco red a 3-2 to finis h in second. Alama ngos
rounded o u t the top three when he m a d e it
aro u nd Stone r earning a 4-3 moto tally for third
place on the day.
