Lynch maintained the lead as Donalson wo rke d his ~ay up to cha llenge the first-pla ce rider. The two ba ttled for a lap un til Lynch turned it up a notch and beg an to open up a sizable lead . Mean w hile, Dresser passed McCan d less to take over third and then quickly mad e his way up to Donalson's rear fend er to make a bid for second . Ly n ch , h owever w.a s ma in tai ning a steady p ace and had ope ne d u p a lO-secon d lead by the thi rd lap . On th e white-flag la p, Dresser put it on cru ise control figu ring Lynch was too far gone. Lyn ch took the checkered flag w ith a hu g e lead o ve r Dr es ser. Donal s o n , McCandless and N ick McKinnon ro unded ou t the top five. "I got a good start and when Wilkinson tried to pas s me, I just grabbed a hand ful of second gear and out gassed him," Lynch said. " I got arm pump near the end , but luckily I ha d a goo dsized lead. " , As the rid ers lined up for moto two, missing from the gate was Drt.Sser, who was nursin g an ' injury sustained in a second --class moto. As the gate dropped, Lynch shot into the lead ahead of Donalson, McKinn on and McCan dl ess. Lyn ch · quickly opened up a cushion and appea red well on his way to a repeat of mota one. Back in second, Donalson ran in to a little trouble as he cross-rutted a nd stalled his bike. YZ400-mounted McKinno n seiz ed the opportunity . and thund ered by Donalson movin g into second. Donalson was not abo ut to give up and chased down McKinnon . On the whit e-flag lap, McKinnon and Donalson came over the finis hlin e jump sid e by side, but McKin non maintained second place as they en tered the ensui ng turn. Time ra n out for Don alson as the checkered flag came ou t wa vi ~g for Lynch followed by McKinn on . Donal son settled for second just ahead of McCandless. Results 1'10 NOV ; 1. Eides enjoy CRC visit to Glen Helen By Greg Robertson SAN B ERNARDIN CA, NOV. 15 O, The Eid e clan h ad a su ccess fu l d a y a t Gle n Helen Racewa y during the Wild Turkey Gra nd Pri x, as Jeff Eide aced the 125ce Intermedi ates, Todd Eide spanked the 125cc Beginn er class and Justin Eide fought back from a last-p lace start to finish a respectable th ird in 250cc Nov ice action du ring rou nd fou r of California Racin g Club's 11th annual Sponsorship Series. Jeff Eide's domin ation of the 12Sec Intermedi- ates began right from the dead-engine start as he grabbed the early lead ove r Chris Thomp son and Seott Pript uen . Tho mpso n shadowed Eide for the first few laps befor e Eide started to pull away. Brent Gilliam work ed his way arou nd Prip u ten for third as Eide increased his lead to 10 seconds at the midway point. Eide continued on for the win aboard his Cha parral-backed Yamaha . Nathan Pami ntuan smoked the rest of the 125cc Beginners on the ope ning lap of their 45minut e rac e. Pamintuan came a ro un d 10 sec - , onds ahead of Jesse King and Kit Kuna th. Todd Eide suffered a bad start but wo rked his way up to fourth by the end of lap one. By lap two , Eide moved into second cu tting Paminruan's lead in hal f. King stayed in t h i rd , h o ldi n g off Jeff Verseput and Jamie Dietz. By thezu-mi nu te mark in the race, Eide passed Pamintuan and started to build a lead of his own . Gr.mt Moore worked his way up from a poor start and slipped past Pamintua nto into second with 20 minutes remaining. Eide was all by himself to greet the checkers with nearly half a minu te to spa re over Moore. Pamintua n kept Verseput at bay to eam third, with King rounding out the top five. Den nis Wag on er na iled the 250cc Noviceclass holes hc t and ran out front for a cou ple of laps before Jason Tru bey chased him do wn and pu shed him back a position . Darren Staffer a nd Justin Eide both had tro ub lesome starts, which put them at the very back of the pack. By lap four , they weaved their way thr ough the field to run in secon d and thir d respectively. ~ Tru bey's early breakaway was too much for anyone to overcome as he easily took the win after 45 min utes of racing.
