Yezek pu lled th e ho les hot ahead of Kalin , DeHoop and Strunk, riding flawlessly out front, and the top fivespots stayed the sa me for most of " the main . Reed w a s part of th e n ex t group of contenders, along with Neese, Kamow and Shu e. Neese and Shue were on the move , and they dispatched Karnow and Reed by the sixt h lap . Yezek and Kalin were locked in up front, but Stru nk was pushing hard a nd he ca ught DeHoop w it h three laps to go and finally secured the spo t with a lap to go. Stru nk co ntinue d to cha rge, and he caugh t second-placed Katin on the last lap, bu t he didn't have tim e to make a pass. DeHoop took fo u r th , a head of Neese. Yezek had to double-clu tch it off the line and tra iled the field to the firs t tu rn , but h e found a seam to slip through an d he en tered the whoops in fifth place. , Kamow and Neese had p roblem s in the w hoops a nd Yezek broke throug h the chaos int o the seco nd spot, behi nd . Katin . Oehlhof was off to his best start of the weekend in thi rd , w ith Strunk and Ryan Lu tz try ing to catch up, though Strunk's race ended w ith bike trouble. Deeper in the pack, Neese was back o n the gas , an d h e a nd Coll ie r were blasting through the field . They passed Lu tz a n d Mic hae l Fa u lk, along wit h Buddy and Jim my Brooks, to mo ve int o the top five, and then they tried to reel in the lead ers. Yezek's chance a t a seco nd straigh t . win ended with three laps to go. "1 wa s blitzing th rou gh the whoops and I came up on a lapper rea lly fast," Yezek said . "His rear wh eel kicked sid eways and I hit him ." Yezek ended up on top of a hay bale and lost two spots tryin g to ge t back in the race. Though he quickly got back up to race speed , he couldn' t catch Katin and Oehlhof. Co lli er and Neese took fourth a'nd fifth, with Lut z sixth, followed by Faulk. SUNDAY 250 Pro ma in Neese had a difficult time adj usting to his bor rowed bik es, but he was riding bett er every time ou t and led the field to the first turn in the weekend's final race. Ka tin , Co ll ier, Ka r no w, M or g an , Oe hlhof and Yezek gave chase. Kat in go t a wh eel by Neese in th e whoops, but he slam me d the d oor in the next turn to hang on to the lead . Morgan held Yezek off for most of the main, but Yez ek u s e d hi s s peed th rou gh th e whoops to se t up the pass. Strunk was followi ng Yezek by then and pass ed when Yezek was held up by lappers. Leader Neese also ran into problems, that proved his u ndoing , let ting Kalin fly by him. The Wes t Coast 125 cc Supe r cross ri der combined 125 a nd 250cc wi ns on Saturday night with a '125cc 'win an d a thi rd in the 250cc class on Friday night on a tough track in fro n t of so me 7900 fans . "It' s tou gh on these tracks," th e 21yea r-old Schnell said after his two wins o n Satu rday nig ht. "T his was a lot of fun , but it really wasn't tha t easy. Rusty (Holland) was tou gh, and having Casey (Lytle) chase me kep t me focused ." Friday night - Friday the 13th - started out well eno ug h for Yama ha of Troy rid er Casey Lytle, as he won the op enin g heat over Schnell and Nate Woods. Ryan Te rlec ki chased him home ahead of Haro ld Hageman and Rusty Holland . T he fea ture saw C lawso n M ot orsports Ho nda rider Rust y Holland bar rel to the fro nt , with Lytle chasing . The ba ttl e was s ho rt -lived , though, as the two had a run-in with eac h other that le ft Ho lla n d a po logizing a t a lat er po int. Ho lla n d 's nig h t ha d sta r ted poor ly when he lost the clutch ha nd le in the s tarting gate; then he had some cras he s. Evans was the man to beat after that, and he brought the RM to the checkers in fro nt of Ryan Terlecki and Sch ne ll, after a good battle for second. From the first practice, Evans looked like the ma n to beat, as he p icked excellent lin es on t he b usy track . Nathan Woods took fou rth, ove r Harold Hageman and elde r sta tes man Dan n y . Pa la d in o on th e Yama ha of Modesto racer. Schne ll wo n th e opening 250cc heat over Wood s and Scott Davis , w hile Terlecki won the second eve nt over Hageman and Jake Windham . Schnell was the class of this field in the main eve n t, as he passed Ho lla nd for th e win, with Ty Evans th ird over Terl ecki, Woods and Davis. The Pee Wee class was the bigges t eve r, with two heats transferrin g the riders to tw o different mains. Josh Duppong top ped the A d ivision on his KTM, with Eric Roth second on his Cobra over Richie Thomas. Thomas was the hit of the night in the postrace inter view, statin g not only tha t h e li kes to win (h is heat ), bu t that he also liked the trophy girl. Cody Jackson took his KTM to the Bdi vision main-even t win over Ma x Simmons and Ian Barth. Satu rd ay night s ta rted a lit well for Schnell, as he wo n the first 125cc eve nt ove r Lytl e a nd Eva ns, while H oll and was tou gh in the second hea t over Terlecki and Du stin Mill er : Schne ll al so wo n the first 250cc moto ove r Evans and Zeb Armstrong, while Holla n d was a w in ne r a gain ove r Scott Davis a n d Randy Crouse. Schnell worked his way pas t Lytle for the 125cc wi n, with Ho lla nd thi rd over Eva ns, Davis and Terlecki, but he had a mu ch toug her time in the 250cc class after ge tting off the line in fifth. H olland ha d the lead over Eva ns, Terlecki, Ju stin Tearney an d Schnell, but the latter quickly went ,to wo rk, making some great passes and ge tting the fan s on the ir feet. In just thr ee lap s, Schnell was up to Holl a n d, a n d thre e co rners lat er h e wo rked his w ay past for the lead .
