District 14' s motocr oss seaso n. When a n was
sa id a n d d on e, Robert Ch a p m an ca m e a wa y
with an im pressive win in the Over 50 class.

Victor Ed gar, meanwhil e, took a close second place in both mot os to Dan Cha pi n and his

the 50cc Beginner class, as h is bike refused to
start a t the ga te. Ken Rega l pulled the holesh ot

win. Mitchell took seco nd p lace.
In the seco nd moto, Mitchell pull ed his firsteve r holeshot , but he was on ly in the lead for
one lap before Rega l stu ffed his way past. Regal
we nt on to win an d Mitchell, who had fallen, got
up from the gro und and passed Dylan Lorenz to
claim second place. .
Action in the 50cc Shaft Drive class saw Battle
Creek ride r Zachary Bassler blas t to victory over
Austin Nelson in moto one. In moto two, Bassler
took several soil sampl es and couldn' t catch Nelson.
Nelson went on to win moto two and the overall.
In 250cc A ac tion , Kevin Hilderbra n t won
the firs t moto on hi s fa th er 's 1999 Kaw asaki.

eastern Virginia had left the us ual mudholes and
creeks cracked an d d ry, so as soon as th e ha t
d ro pped , th e qu iet, su nn y a u tum n d ay of th e
fina l ro und of the Virginia. Cham pionship Hare
Scrambl es Series t u rn ed int o a ra gin g dust
stor m. Visibility was reduced to only a few feet
along most of the trail, lea vin g m9st of the riders
gro ping a long the 7-mile cour se.
After nursing a broken wrist d uri ng the last
fou r races, Casey Cycle City-spo nso red Yama ha
ri4er Jason Gree r was hun gry for an overall win .
Greer and Motor Imports-ba ck ed Kawasa ki
rider Danny Morrison were bangin g bars in the
first tu rn of the AA start. Gree r stretched out a
one-mi nute lead on Morri son going into the sec·
ond lap and kept the scorching pace to take the
ove ra ll w in and the AA -class cha m p ionsh ip .

stretch . The Casey Cyde City-backed Kawa saki

crowd to dart in to the woods first. Ingra m wa s
on Williams' rear knobb ies comin g through the

checkers. By the final lap , Ingram had fallen off
the pace, and CPMR-spo nsored Kawas aki rid er

the barrels. Ingram came in third.
