Having swept rounds one and two of the series, Holland mis sed round three due to an inju ry sus tained at a race in Fresn o, but he ret urned to the Oa tfield Raceway in top for m . Along w ith the usual p ro cojnperition in a ttend a nce, Holland had to contend wi th the return of loca l Supercro ss and National co mpetitor Tyl er Eva ns. Howev er, Evan s, who wa s still recovering from in juri es sus ta ined during th e National season, couldn't keep up the pace of the speedy Holland. Perfect fall wea ther g r ee te d th e crowd , as well as the more than 275 rid ers who took to the AMP-prepped track. The day s ta rted off with the 125ccclas s event , and Evan s took the holeshot, followed by Jeff Northrop, Jeff Pestana, Holl and and A uggie Rodriguez. Evans looked like his old self as he roosted his wa y through each tum of the technical track . Holland, however, made qui ck w ork o f Pestana and Northrop and wa s soon right on the tail of Evans. Holland made a move for the lead over the triple jump, but he just couldn't outaccel erate Evans, and he tucked back in behind him. Al so o n th e move was Yamaha pilot Du stin Bloomfield , who made a hor sepower pass on Rodriguez on the back stra ightaway to take over the fourth p os it ion . As th e race wound d own, Holl and was on his way to another well-earned victo ry, and Evans appeared to have second locked up.
