Th is tim e, ho wev er, Van Meter got the bett er of Jenkins, a nd on lap two he squi rted his Yama ha in to seco nd an d to w ithin striking d istance of Fedo rcha k. Fed orchak held on to firs t as Jenk ins ret al iated on la p fo ur an d regained second pl ac e from Va n Me ter . Jen kin s ma in tain ed his mom entum int o th e ne xt laps a nd , n with Van Me ter in tw o, zap ped Fe orcha k for d the number-one spot. The riders in the top posi T nons held on till the checkers, with Jenkins ta king the win , Van Meter second . Fedorchak third, and Granfield a nd No Toil's Joel Tenneyf ourth .a nd fifth, respectivel y. . Fos ler was in charge, d early in contro l on his ultratrick Yam ah a o ut of Cameron Par k. Van Meter was caugh t slee ping and rou nd ed the firsl lap mid pac k. He did not was te any time a nd raged past Enc Echols and Jenkins on the next lap, moving up to fifth . Aga in, the Jenk ins/ Van Meter battle developed, with Jenkin s making his m ov e o n Van Meter on the four th lap. Van Meter go t the be tter of Jenkins this mote with a wire-to-wire win ov er Fedorchak in seco nd . Tenney finish ed .solid ly in third o ver Fetrow, w hile Van Meter held on for fifth . . This motu sho wed just ho w evenly mat ched the riders in this class ar e, as the top six finisher s ,in the firs t motu all tra ded top-six positions in the second moto. Even wi th a ll the trading of p laces, Fedorcha k's 3-2 sco res were the best of the nig h t and ear ned him the ov er a ll hono rs. What followed was a th ree-way tie for second that had 10 be decided by the seco nd-mote tiebreak er ru le.
