But w he n the resu lts . were ta llied it up , it wa s the cons istent 2-2 rides of Charles Dana tha t end ed up ma king him the, ove ra ll winner during Ca lifornia Racing Clu b's Satu rday night motocross at Los A nge les County Raceway. Dana gated fou rth, bu t within a lap he was aro und Kyle Kelly and Rya n Robert son and was pres~ su ring Weber . Dana doubl e-jum ped over Weber for the lead . Weber stu ck a wheel un der Dana to rega in control two turns la ter. Dana was n' t giving up, and he s ailed past w eber once aga in at the halfway po int to se t the pace. Weber retaliated a la p later and would slowly pull away from Dana for the win. Robert son was a close third , ahead of Jason Shearer and Eddie Fish . Evans, who could only wo rk up to a sixthp lace fin ish in the firs t mota aft er a poor start, tota lly d o mi nat ed t he sec o n d m ot o . Pon ce De Leon near ly caught Reed befo re goi ng down toward the end of the race, handing Reed his sec ond class vic to ry of th e night. Ponce De Leon recovered for second ove r Mike Moye. Hartsh orn had different plans, however, The YZ n der stalked Hamilton's Suzuki for the entire moto, often trying to find a line to take the lead , Hamil ton was able to ma tch Hartshorn's every move un til the fina l com er before the checkers. In the last corner, Hartsh orn used a n a ggressive side, pas..ing Hamilton an d pu tting . move to the iru lum down in the process. Ham ilton wa s able to get up an d take second in the moto , thus 'setting the stage for a showdown in the second moto, Tht.
