w as no w engaged in a battle with both Keller
and Lawson for the second position. Lee s tarted
his ch arge to the front a nd now occu p ied the
fifth spot. As the moto neared the halfwa y mark,
Diez bega n to fall o ff the pace, as both Keller
a nd Law son found a way around him. On the
next lap , Lee not only slipped by Diez but also
p ut th e pa ss o n bo th Law so n an d Kell er , Lee,
now in seco nd . began to go a fter Dani el an d the
lead . As Lee had closed to wi t hin tw o bike
len gths o f Da niel , the bat tle was on , al thoug h
Dani el was fo rced to back off ......the victim of a
flat front tire. Lee now had the lead and enjoy ed
a lO-second cushion over seco nd- p lace d lawso n, w ho had go ne arou nd Keller rig ht before
the white flag came ou t. At the finis h, it was Lee
